The purpose of the research is to find out the working conditions in the grinding of Tungalloy G by Electric erosion. The direct current is used as electrolytic source, and a condenser is inserted parallel to both electrodes. The sample is connected to the positive side and a rotating wheel made of cast iron or cast brass to the negative side of the circuit; and kerosene or water is fed between them. The experimeuts are carried out by changing various conditions aff ecting the amount of metal grouned per unit time and the roughness of the surface finished.

The speed of conventional brass plating has been rather low, however, if the copper-zinc ratio and pH value are appropriate in the complex cyanide salt solution the high speed brass plating such as with high current density of 6A/dm² is by no means impossible. The surface of deposit is smooth with uniform color. Automatic control is preferable to comply with the necessary strict temperature reguirement.

After cleansing and pickling, the steel materials were dipped in lead bath using NH₄Cl, ZnCl₂, SnCl₂ and ZnCl₂ as fluxes.
Changing the various dipping conditions about time, temperature and fluxes, fundamental researches were carried out to obtain the following conclusions:
(1) The four fluxes mentioned adove are satisfactory prrovided that conditions are appropriate.
(2) The most effective temperature lies between 350°C and 360°C.
(3) The proper dipping time differs according to the kind of flux.
(4) Repeated dipping up to three times is preferable.
The film thus coated was uniform, pitless, bright and smooth; the thickness being from 0.017 to 0.067gr. per sq. cm.
