The problems are testing evaluation method of gaseous pollutant removal performance is not established, and actual performance is unclear, and moreover mutual comparison of the air freshener is too difficult. We have grasped the ammonia and VOC removing performance of the atmosphere compatible products using a new test evaluation method in this report. The result was that there occurred a number of cases where the value exceeded the guideline value of VOC by spraying deodorant. In such cases, it was found that the ammonia removing performance was displayed well. Therefore, it is possible that a certain level of the TVOC value is required to remove malodorous substances such as ammonia.

We made a proposal for a Low-CO_2 Type Ecological Energy-saving Building Grading Test. Today Saving energy and CO_2-emission is very important. But there are no clear index for saving energy and CO_2-emission in operating buildings. In Japan, CASBEE is the most famous index for building environment efficiency. But CASBEE is all-round index. It's not specialized index for saving energy and CO_2-emission. And so we made clear and easy-to-use specialized Grading Test. This test uses energy consumption volume per unit area for main index and adds in some corrected items. So this grading is associated with the amount of energy consumption.

The responses of five human subjects to four indoor airborne odors (lavender, peppermint, cypress, and carpet tile) were examined to determine the effect of perceived air quality and odor type and duration on several psycho-physiological variables during periods of rest and while performing intellectual tasks. Exposure to a preferred odor, despite its type, may improve comfort, satisfaction and mood, as well as increasing self-rating work efficiency, and may also enhance the activity of the para-sympathetic system. Sensitivity to a preferred odor was higher at rest than during a task. The exposure time that produces a positive effect on a subject's physiological responses differs with activity level, being one minute during work and ten minutes when at rest.

This paper reports the result of measurement of energy consumption of two retail stores. The purpose of this measurement is to clarify the energy consumption characteristics of the floor selling dietary items using refrigeration cabinets in contrast with floors selling clothing and miscellaneous daily goods. While in floors for clothing and miscellaneous daily goods, energy consumption for lighting and cooling is dominant, in the floor for dietary items, more than half of energy is consumed for operating refrigeration cabinets. Energy consumption for heating is larger than cooling due to leaked air from cabinets.

We report the results of measurements of indoor thermal loads in two large electric-home-appliance retail stores, in which EHP and/or GHP are used for air-conditioning, with attention to the influence of outdoor air temperature distributions on thermal load characteristics. Based on the measured results we made the indoor thermal load model of this type of stores ith large indoor heat sources. We calculated the annual thermal loads in three cities with different meteorological conditions using this thermal load model and Expanded AMeDAS weather data, and found that the cooling load was as larger as the heating load even in a northern city in Japan.

We applied LCEM for test and commissioning of the heat source system at renewal construction phase. In the summer of one year after hand over, the performance evaluation was done from the test and commissioning and simulation results using LCEM tool while really operating at on-time. As a result, there is a possibility that COP of heat source system improves by 3.7% when the mode of operation of the heat source is changed in peak load of summer. Moreover, in summer season there is a possibility that COP improves by 14%.
