Since the accomplishment of Onahama salt manufacturing factory, out-vapour evaporating system becomes the centre of attention in evaporating industry, not to mention salt manutacturing industry. Specialy in later, it is claimed that the erection of 50,000 tons or 100,000 tons factory according to the cultivation of sources of electricitx, and now a few planning are performing.
Now, for steam-compressor_ the turbo-blower is used, but in the large scale plant we must consider the apply of axial compressor that is large volume flow, small scale, and high efficiency. Originally, the axial-compressor is studied and developed for jet engines, and so its chracteristics are small front surface and high efficiency. Recently it is introduced that A. R. Howell's literaure(England), and we had knowlege of the cascade theory, that compression ratio per one stage becomes larger by aking larger value of solidity; chord/pitch ratio, and efficiency becomes higher by adoption of 50% reftion in free vortex type. We are now testing the certification of this theory and the applying to steam by axial-compressor that applied this theory and is planted comparatively small volume flow, small compression ratio, therefore we give the outline of equipment, testing results, and anticipate the apply to the out-vapour evaporating equipment.
