To deal with growing increase of literature various computeraized handling systems are being developed ; their capability, however, is limited. Then, the best way to cope with this large amount of literature be principally to cut off the unnecessary part of them. In this respect, the following are described : In application of Bradford's line with its several parts in the use of literature, some may be discarded. Cole's work, in which the literature collection is determined on the basis of the space capacity, by means of the median age. If the cost of a collection is higher than that of its reproduction, no need is there to have this collection.
