Case l was a 66-year-old woman who cornplained of heartburn. Endoscopic examinationrevealed a DolvDoid lesion at the esophago-gastric junction. In our hosbital, she underwent polypectomy of the polyp and it was entirely removed Pathological examination of tlhe specimen. revealed pyogellic granuloma. Case 2 was a 53-year-old man who complained of heartburn and epigastric pain aftermeals. Endoscopic examination revealed a polypoid lesion, which was covered with a whitecoating on the top, in the middle esophagus. Pathological exarnination of the biopsy specimensrevealed pyogenic granulorna. Twenty-one days later, we tried to perform polypectomy, butthe polyp had completely disappeared. Pyogenic granulorrla, benign and elevated lesion whichhas a tendency to hemorrhage, is often recognized in the oral mucosa and skirL However, thereis little report about pyogenic granuloma localized in the gastrointestinal tract. We report twocases of pyogenic granulorna in the esophagus.
