An attempt to clarify the sterilization mechanism of microorganism by plasma discharging in addition of hydrogen peroxide has been carried out. Pottasium (K) and phosphorus (P) concentration changes in the marked bacteria : Bacillus subtilis (BS) and Staphylococcus aureus (SA) in contact with the radicals generated from hydrogen peroxide by the plasma discharging technique at low temperatute. Then, K and P concentrarion changes were comprared with those at the autoclaving and ethylene oxide sterilization. K concentration change was more markedly than P concentration change in both bacteria by these three sterilizations, And then, BS was more sensitive than SA in the term of K in these sterilizations. It was guessed that the injury effect against the cell membranes of the BS and SA was nearly same.

The flow imaging cytometer (FIC) is a flow cytometer in combination with the function of capturing static images of individual cells. We assessed the usefulness of image observation on the FIC as a new swirling-test method of platelet concentrates (PC). The use of the FIC allowed visual obsevation of morphlogical defferences in platelets, also its additional function of image processing made objective evaluation possible. In addition, the equipment is capable of automation from sample dilution to image analysis, simply by aspirating a fixed volume of blood sample. Our results suggest that the swirling test of PC could be fully automated by using the FIC.
