The purpose of the research is to describe what types of safety strategies are taken, what types of burdens and difficulties the faculties suffer from, and how the clinical practicum is evaluated on child-family nursing in Baccalaureate nursing schools since the legislation of curriculum was revised on 1997. The participants were 43 schools with research consent at the time of December, 1998. A structured survey questionnaire was developed based on the literature, and content validity was investigated on the pilot study. The questionnaire was mailed to each school, and 34 out of 43 (79.1%) schools replied. The data was analyzed with descriptive statistics. The findings were as follows :Safety strategies to deal with incident were planned among 70-80% of schools. Safety measures for infection was mainly conducted by providing the students the health management education. History of infectious disease was self-reported by students. Burdens and difficulties from which the faculties suffer were influenced by the social situation including the decline of child population. Clinical practicum was evaluated comprehensively, and feedback from students to clinical staff were rarely given.
