A micro-computer was utilized for storing and processing the health data of Saitama University students. All the data of about 1200 freshmen were stored into a sheet of semi-floppy disk(occupying approximately 46 clusters). Data processing was made also by the micro-computer. Among the results, the distribution of the body weight was of a particular consideration. In place of the cubic root transformation, which had been believed to be the best, the logarithmic transfomation resulted in a better approximation to the normal distribution according to skewness, kurtosis, AIC(deviance)and D'Agostino's D statistic.

This Paper attempts to study the acceptance process for women with nuclear power by means of POSA; Partial Order Scalogram Analysis. E. M. Rogers has asserted that the acceptance process of technological innovation consists of five steps such as awareness, interest, evaluation, trial and adoption. However, as we think the trial and adoption process are inappropriate for nuclear power technology, we left out them.Evaluation process is so important for this study that we point out three views which are safety, management system and economical merits to site. In order to ascertain this hypothesis, we made a research for the attitude test to women about nuclear power in four points where the sites of nuclear power station and urban areas only consuming the energy. After analysis, we extracted five acceptance processes, and the main process was interest, awareness, evaluation with safety, management system and economical merits to site. Finally, POSA is a very effective method dealing with such a problem.

The data in the fields of biological, social and medical sciences, are often represented by contingency tables having ordered categories. Such data have been analyzed by many researchers using various methods. Especially, the association models proposed by Goodman have become a major tool of statistical analysis for the contingency tables having ordered categories. This article is concerned with a survey of recent literatures about the analysis of contingency tables having ordered categories.
