Necessity of net Zero Energy Building is described. Energy saving of the building contributes to the expansion of domestic demand. It is being reviewed as economic policy in Europe. Energy-efficient large-scale buildings are being carried out in the big city for the first time in the world in Tokyo. ZEB is not an energy saving of patience. We need to disseminate to the world energy-saving technology of Japan using the word ZEB. Considering lighting environment is very important for nZEB.
As examples of ZEB-oriented Building of Japan, I introduced examples as the energy consumption results and the initiatives of the environmental consideration, in government buildings of three representative of Japan (Itoman-shi Government building, Kawagoe town Government building, Tochigi Prefectural Government building). As the Feasibility Study results of ZEB in government building, I introduced study of reduction effect by additional measures based on Tochigi Prefectural Government building, in addition, feasibility study of ZEB by solar power generation. In response to the study results, target values of Energy conservation is about 400-600 MJ/(m^2 a) for the time being toward ZEB in government buildings. Target values of the combined Energy generation and Energy conservation is about 100-500 MJ/(m^2 a) for the time being toward ZEB in government buildings. In addition, I describe caveats and future directions, about lighting for ZEB, from the perspective of five (design illuminance, lighting of considering how it is used, lighting design, lighting power consumption, lighting control).
Commercial and residential sector comprises approximately 30-50% of final energy consumption in each country all over the world, and an increase from the past is remarkable. In order to realize a low carbon society, further enhancement of energy saving measures is essential. Net zero energy buildings is regarded as highly energy efficient measures to reduce energy consumption of commercial sector, and the government of each country has conducted a lot of research and demonstration projects regarding net zero energy buildings. First, this paper introduces the trend of net zero energy buildings including policy, institution and technology aspects in Europe, USA, and Asia. The activities regarding net zero energy buildings are shifting from "policy oriented" (phase 1) to "business oriented" (phase 2) in the world. Next, based on the world trend of net zero energy buildings, this paper considers the market potential of net zero energy buildings and business opportunities for Japanese companies.
This investigation was carried out as ZEB working papers by sponsorship of the "The Japan Architectural Education and Information center". The target country was United States and Southeast Asia and performed the inspection investigation into building of each country. This report introduces various techniques and the technique about the lighting equipment to achieve ZEB through this inspection.
ZEB (net Zero Energy Building) has become recognized to be important for energy conservation and global warming prevention worldwide. In Japan, after the East Japan Great Disaster, the need of self-sufficiency of energy has been recognized from the viewpoint of energy security. On the other side definition and evaluation method of ZEB is not so clear that design method of ZEB is not yet established. Therefore in this paper the definition, evaluation method of ZEB and the calculated results of its feasibility will be discussed.
We renewed the part of Kajima KI building as the field test with the new technologies in order to reduce 50% of consumption energy in comparison to other general offices. We achieved the aim of 50% reduction in the annual energy consumption. We introduce the outline of main technologies adopted, breakdown of 50% reduction, and new lighting plan.
