    To accelerate the introduction rate of renewable energy in households, it is crucial important to pull up the citizen’s mind to install renewable energy equipments. For the effective support policy making, it is necessary to grasp the actual situation of the citizen’s intention of the introduction of renewable energy power equipments to households and to clarify the decisive factors of the intention. In this study, we conducted the questionnaire survey on the introduction intention of renewable energy equipments to an individual house in Nagoya and Kanazawa cities. We analyzed the regional differences of two cities, the decisive factors of the intention and the impacts of the information affecting the intention. As a result, we found that the intention had a correlation with many factors, such as interests in environmental problems, power-saving actions, time preference, and participation in volunteer and NPO activities. In addition, it was suggested that the stimulation of interests in environmental problems, the increasing supply of large renewable energy power plants, and the enhancement of subsidy systems would be effective to increase the intention rate.

    In many Japanese provincial cities, undesirable outcomes such as atmospheric pollution and traffic congestion emerge caused by motorization. It also raises the need for the transportation options for the aged people and children. The introduction of LRT system with high operation performance and preferable environmental impacts attract attention of policy makers. On the other hand, few researches have dealt with the commutes by bicycle and the transfer on foot while these account a great rate in the urban area transportation. We focus on the effects of the introduction of LRT and related transportation policies in Okayama and Soja city in Okayama Prefecture by applying spatial interaction model, logit model for the transportation mode choice. We then employ the system optimum assignment, user equilibrium assignment and stochastic user equilibrium assignment model to evaluate the route choice behavior. Bicycle and walk options are also taken into account.

    Cyclic examination including exergy analysis on the Kalina Cycle and the Organic Rankine Cycle were fulfilled to understand the characteristics as means of waste heat recovery. The results showed that for waste heat recovery of 100c exhaust gas, the Kalina Cycle gave higher exergy efficiency than the Ammonia Rankine Cycle because boiler exergy loss was small. The R245fa Rankine Cycle also gave higher exergy efficiency than the Ammonia Rankine Cycle because R245fa latent was small and exhaust exergy loss was small. For waste heat recovery of 200c exhaust gas, the Kalina Cycle lost the advantage to the Ammonia Rankine Cycle because recuperator and absorber exergy loss became bigger. Comparison with the conventional steam turbine cycle (Water Rankine Cycle) were also fulfilled. For waste heat recovery of 300c or higher exhaust gas, the conventional steam turbine cycle is the most reasonable means of waste heat recovery because the triple pressure Water Rankine Cycle and the supercritical Ammonia Rankine Cycle showed the almost same exergy efficiency and the Water Rankine Cycle is proven technology of co-generation power plant.

    In this study, energy consumption and noise level are evaluated based on the analysis of experiments on the sea to measure individual characteristics of electric and engine outboard motors, and to investigate navigation characteristics of the two kinds of boats; one is propelled by the electric outboard motor and the other is propelled by the engine outboard motor. As a result, it was clarified that the energy consumption of the electric outboard motor to get the same thrust is approximately 27-46% of the energy consumption of the engine outboard motor. There is almost no difference when the boat attaching the electric outboard motor is navigated under the generation efficiency at the time of 60%, transmission efficiency 94%, battery charging electric discharge efficiency 83%. The higher effectiveness of the electric outboard motor is mainly caused by the difference between the energy conversion efficiency of the electric outboard motor and the gasoline engine motor, it decreases when the boat attaching the electric outboard motor is navigated. Furthermore, it was shown that the noise level of the electric outboard motor was lower than that of the engine outboard motor experimentally.
