This paper is comparison analysis of recovered energy from RDF(Refused Derived Fuel) incineration plant and energy demand in the large scale residential site. It is based on potential energy and fuel ratio(per collected waste) analysis of RDF. The RDF is made from disposed waste of in and around case study site. The main case study is energy balance of YASIO site in SINAGAWA, TOKYO. A sensitivity(simulation) analysis is diversified RDF incineration scale and waste material(elementary) composition, and compared with an existence(fossil fuel use) system. The RDF system could use as an aid or main fuel of DHC(District Heating & Cooling) system in the simulation case, and more efficiency than fossil fuel use system. But, the energy peak of thermal (heating-cooling) demand brought about large scale system. As a result, YASIO site needs RDF-335t/day incineration for energy self-sufficiency. The large scale system(or small scale system like a RDF-50t/day) is not good energy use efficiency. From RDF-100t to RDF-200t/day scales are the best efficiency in this analysis. In addition to waste composition, mixed disposal of waste(each category of business and housing) is the best efficiency.These results of energy balance analysis is useful for RDF policy decision and basic data of environmental impact assessment and social efficiency.
