Unit water content of RCD concrete has large influence an properties of fresh and hardening concrete. Stabilization and precise measurement of moisture content of aggregate is therefore important in mixing RCD concrete, The measurement of moisture content of aggregate by a RI meter is introduced in a laboratory and the accuracy of measurement is evaluated.

Fundamental laboratory test has been performed to establish Fracture Direction Controlled (FDC) Grouting with which vertical fracture perpendicular to flow direction of river is produced. By use of an injection pipe with 30cm-long vertical slits, vertical fracture can be formed in the expected direction in a homogeneous and K0-conditioned specimen. In case of real injection works, void between an injection pipe and a borehole wall has to be filled with sealing materials. An expected fracture can also be produced under the above-mentioned condition.

Recently, more dams are being constructed on unfavorable geologic conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to establish investigation methods for a better understanding of the geologic structures.
This paper discusses the applicability of dipole-dipole prospecting method for identifying and locating the buried fluvial deposits and alluvial soft deposits at proposed dam sites and cavities located at an underground dam site; and underground radar system for evaluation of fault. Consequently, it is found that these geophysical prospecting methods are very effective for the dam site investigation.

The computing model for voids ratio of two-grading particles was developed as a basic model for multi-grading particles, which will contribute to reasonable concrete design method. The modeling was conducted using the voids ratio data obtained through the experiments with various sized glass beads. From the experimental data, the coefficient of particle interactions, k, was defined, and it was classified into three stages considering the distance of larger particles and the size of smaller particles. As the result of the formulation of the coefficient k, the voids ratio of two-grading particles having any size ratio and volume fraction can be computed. Moreover it was found that the boundary points between stage I and stage II is different in the case of real aggregate from that of glass beads. It was unified that the model can be applied to the voids ratio of real aggregate considering the difference of shape from glass beads.

The foundation rock of the Nukui arch dam mostly consists of the stiff granite, but high dip faults and low dip joints exsist at the dam site.
Therefore on the planning of the excavation, toppling phenomena and key block failure are concerned.
We have executed the monitoring of the rock behavior for the slope stability against such failure.
In the excavation mesurement data are utilized for the slope protection, for example, the decision of the rock bolt-patterns.
In this paper the plan and result of the mesurement are reported.
