JOURNAL FREE ACCESSThis paper focuses on the improvement of the precision of temperature control on the precooling method applied to dam concrete. Usually we control temperature of precooled dam concrete by evaluating the amount of precooling from the relation of the calorie earnings and expenses of concrete materials and measuring the placing temperature of precooled concrete.

JOURNAL FREE ACCESSBefore practically applying the RCD Construction Method to the KAZUNOGAWA Dam, the method was experimentally employed to concrete-casting for the foundation of the construction facilities.
Based on the result of this field expriment, the optimum concrete mixing and construction procedures for the lift thickness of 1m were determined. Moreover, the possibility of the decrease of unit cement content (C+F=110kg/m3), that of the increase of the fryash replacing ratio (F/C+F=40%) and that of the increase of the lift thickness (1.25m) were examined to make RCD Construction Method more efficient.View full abstractDownload PDF (3839K)
