    The purpose of this paper is to clarify the KIDO Mantaro’s concept of skill and its meaning related to intelligence. This study is a part of the study on technology education for intellectual retardation children in Japan.

    KIDO studied on relation between sewing skill and intelligence. The results of KIDO’s study were as follows:

    1) There were a correlation between skill and intelligence,

    2) Because of well-controlled ability which contained skill and intelligence,

    3) Therefore, it should be distinguished intelligence from logic.

    KIDO’s study has had the original meaning. That is, acquiring the skills for intellectual retardation children promote their development by influence intelligence and they could comprehend objective, and it should be distinguished from scientific recognition.
