In this paper, Recurrent Model based on Lissajous's figure in phase plane is introduced and its application methods for evaluation and design of social systems are discussed. Qualitative, quantitative, macroscopic and microscopic aspects are employed as principal axes, and recurrence, symbiosis, equity and safety are as transitional ones in the evaluation phase plane.

To find out the relation between thermal environment and comfortability, this paper presents how regression analysis and conjoint analysis work. The data for these analysis include twenty two experiments' vote for their feeling on several conditions. The paper will present not only the causal relation gained by the analysis but also the predominance point or limitation for these analysis.

The delay independent stability (DIS) conditions of linear delay systems are investigated. Nagel has derived the DIS conditions on a Banach lattice by using the properties of non-negative semigroups. On the other hand, Amemiya has derived the DIS conditions on a finite function space by using the theory of M-matrix. Our objective is to show that their two conditions are equivalent on a finite function space.

In this talk, we consider a Lyapunov stability analysis for a two-dimensional discrete-time system described by a high orderpartial difference-algebraic equation in the behavioral context. We first give the definition of the asymptotic stability of a behavior. As a main result, we derive a sufficient condition for the asymptotic stability.

In this paper, by applying some results on infinite-dimensional control theory, a closed formula for H2 performance limitation is derived for systems that can be expressed as a series connection of a rational transfer matrix and a scalar inner function. The resulting formula, given as a functional of the inner function, helps us to understand how achivable H2 performance deteriorates due to non-minimum phase properties of the plants.

For deciding structures of SAW filters based on the computer simulation, the equivarent circuit model, which includes several uncertain parameters, is used. To cope well with the designing imperfections caused by the dispersion of these parameters, it is important for us to know the relationship between function and robustness. So, a multi-objective genetic algorithm is applied to the two objective optimum design problem of SAW filters.

This paper proposes a model of adding relations to an organization structure which is a complete K-ary tree of height H. When edges between every pair of P(P=2,3,...,K) nodes with the same depth N are added, an optimal depth N^* is obtained by maximizing the total shortening path length which is the sum of shortening lengths of shortest paths between every pair of all nodes.

To optimize the large-scale capacitated hub median problem in a numerically effective manner, we proposed a hybrid method composed of meta-heuristic and graph algorithms. In this study, we have implemented a new parallel algorithm for this method on PC cluster to improve the computation efficiency from the aspect both of accuracy and computation time. Through numerical experiments, we verified the performance of the proposed method.

This paper proposes a new approach to switching PLS regression that is a hybrid technique of PLS regression and fuzzy clustering. In the proposed method, the PLS regression part plays a role for estimating lower dimensional latent variables that are useful for prediction of some external criteria while the clustering part is responsible for unsupervised classification of samples considering local data structure.

This paper proposes an enhanced technique of independent component analysis (ICA), which extracts independent components closely related to some external criteria. Preprocessing is performed by using fuzzy regression-principal component analysis, which estimates latent variables that have high correlation with the external criteria considering local data structure.

In traditional pattern classification where misclassification cost is the same for all patterns, an error rate is often used to evaluate the performance of classification systems. In real world, however, there are important and unimportant patterns. We propose a fuzzy rule-generation method that is based on misclassification cost. We show the effectiveness of the proposed method through computational experiments.
