Almost all polymer materials are blended with an elastomer to improve their brittle failure property. The improvement of the brittle property seems to come from the void generation around the elastomer phase. However, there are few researches about the effect of void dispersion on the deformation stability. This paper shows the effect of void dispersion on the stabilization of deformation by finite element analysis. From the simulation, we have been able to clarify the following things. Under uniaxial loading, brittle failure is caused by local transversal deformation between the voids. When the polymer has the size distribution of the voids, the local deformation only occurs between larger voids. Therefore, the smaller void does not affect the instability of the deformation. When the polymer has location distribution with voids that are uniform size, the local deformation starts from the shortest space of the voids. And the deformation causes the brittle failure.
