This research was based on the micro data from 1993, 1998 and 2003 Housing demandsurvey. It contains information on individuals and households, including age of head, tenure type of housing andincome, etc. Of our special interest is the fact that, within Metropolitan Employment Area (MEA), persons were distinguished by whether they lived in the central city or the suburban. Then the logit model is calibrated to explain the locational choice of households living in local MEA. The model reveals older household heads were more likely to live in central city than were younger and higher income were more likely to live in central city, other factors held constant. And environmental amenities had made positive influence on the locational choice of households.
