Cheilolejeunea ventricosa (Schiffn.) X.-L.He is reported from the Ryukyu Isls. and the Ogasawara Isls., southern Japan as a new addition to the known hepatic flora of Japan. Based on the Japanese material, a description, illustrations and some notes on this species are provided.

Ephemerum crassinervium (Schwaegr.) Hampe is added to the moss flora of Japan. The species is closely related to E. minutissimum Lindb., but has differentiated costae throughout leaves. It was found on soil in a rice field, at about 100 m alt., Kakegawa-shi, Shizuoka-ken, central Japan. Description (in Japanese) and illustrations of the species are given.

Pleuridium palustre (Bruch & Schimp.) Bruch & Schimp. is added to the moss flora of Japan. The species is closely related to P. japonicum Deguchi, Matsui & Z. Iwats., but has no annulus near the base of beak. It was found on soil, at 10-15 m alt., Bettouga bog near Nemuro, Hokkaido, Japan. Description (in Japanese) and illustrations of the species are given.
