To protect the home electronics and telecommunications equipment from over-vo1tages caused by lightning surge, ti is important to reduce the ground potential at an entry point of the lightning surge. In this study,to reduce the ground potential caused by lightning surge current from neighboring lightning strike,we examined the effects of ground electrode shapes and systems on the ground potential distribution. It was confirmed that the potential distribution shifted toward the bent by using a L-type ground electrode in the experiments using the water tank. Also,by placing an insulating rubber, the ground potential of the outer side significantly reduced. These results were verified in FDTD simulation. However, the reducing effects of the ground potential become eliminate by longer the distance from the ground electrode.
