In late years the succession of the expert skill becomes the social problem. Therefore, quantification and database compilation of skill motion, the development of the education support system are extremely important for accumulation and the education of the skill. Then we intended for the arc welding skill in this study. The system which we developed evaluates the three-dimensional motion information that we acquired by the motion capture system based on the judgment standard of the expert skill person quantitatively.

The relationship between head nod types and Japanese aizuchi response types in daily conversations was researched. With detailed analysis, we categorized head nods into two types: Prepared (P) and Non-prepared (N). In type P, the head moved upward slightly for the preparation (P), stroked downward (S), and recovered to the rest position (R), while in type Non-P the head only stroked and recovered without the preparation. The rate of Type P with aizuchi "ah" is higher than the rate of Type P with the other aizuchi types. The position of P in Type P is delayed when the aizuchi "ah" was followed by the estimate. In the nods with aizuchi "un", the rate of Type P with prolonged aizuchi was higher than that with normal aizuchi. When Type Non-P occurred, aizuchi "un" tend to be more affirmative, without following utterances. In aizuchi "so", the rate of Type P is higher when the aizuchi were followed with other utterances.

Athletes often have lack of ability to think and feel in a meta-cognitive manner that would be crucial for learning embodied skills in sports. This paper provides discussions on how athletes should learn and how coaches could and should support them. These are conjectures obtained from the first author's experience of working as an athletic trainer in a professional baseball team in Japan. Athletes should be able to improve capability of self-awareness of own body through internal observation. Coaches, in designing a supportive environment for athletes' learning, should take advantage of always being a practitioner to keep up with the reality of somesthesis.

One important issue for meta-cognitive exploration is how to shape a custom of meta-cognitive verbalization on interactions between one's own body and the surrounding environment. Based on the hypothesis that stationery serves an important role in shaping that custom, we have designed two memo pads, called "hex" and "maru memo". The concept shared by both is "write, layout, and think". The difference of shapes of both seems to encourage completely different ways of use; both differ in the number of inherent directionality of contour and the degree of ambiguity and abstractness evoking flexible interpretation. This paper presents empirical findings about how both memo pads are usable in a custom of meta-cognition.
