Asahikawa Medical University started a Telemedicine program in 1994 to resolve existing health disparities between cities and rural areas. We also are actively engaged in research into Information and Communication Technology. We established a system that transmits 3-dimensional, high-definition images through the Internet and developed a home medical care system that allows patients to be followed at home after hospital discharge. These achievements make it possible to provide patients with continuous medical support in Japan, China, and other Asian countries with limited medical facilities in rural areas.
To promote improvement of the quality of stroke care, the stroke team at Sunagawa City Medical Center (SCMC) provides various services. Stroke team consists of neurosurgeons, a neurologist, experienced nurses, physiotherapists, a speech therapist and case workers. The stroke team performed stroke education to community, general doctors, medical co-workers and rescue team. Stroke education derived early treatment of stroke, increased t-PA treated patients and improvement of mRS. Stroke management IT system (DASCH Pro) assisted improvement of stroke care.
It will be meaningless when healthcare information systems will not be able to create any value in medical front. Japan will face a society of unprecedented super-aging and workforce shortage. So, it is urgent and important to nurture human resources that can deal with the drastic change of healthcare environment, and create value to implementing healthcare information systems with sufficient project management skills.
The purpose of this study is to clarify the purpose, the functions and the future problem of medical information systems in Japan. By development of the information technology and a medical information promotion policy, it is investigated what kind of part of the medical system information technology has been utilized on until now. Because approximately 90% of Japanese medical care facilities are small clinics, an across-the-board introduction of the information technology to all medical care facilities is difficult under the present conditions. For the establishment of the community comprehensive care system, as a base of the future medical cooperation field, the method to increase the utilization of the information technology in a medical field is a future problem.
Mobile could make everyone use the cutting-edge technology by visualization power of advanced media. Mobile has opened the barriers in the healthcare by modularizing each specialty. Mobile internet devices have forced users to intermediate the practical application of advanced technology by direct and instant innovation through experiment to implementing new technology. Mobile served a role as an industrial cradle for removing barriers for entry from the other industries or new comers to healthcare.
Medical organizations processes medical care and management information. To improve analytical capability of them for gaining and sustaining competitive advantage, we have to use medical information in high quality for achieving improvement in the quality of medical care. Also, we must improve the quality in management process to improve the quality of medical care. In order to improve the quality of medical care and management process, we need information in high quality. In other words, medical care management based on evidence is needed. This paper proposes an analytical framework for information quality management in medical organizations. The method is based on statistical quality control. Moreover, we discuss some points for implementing the framework from information and management perspective.
Nurses act as a hub in the communication network of multidisciplinary care by transmitting the information they collect to other professions according to differences in specialty and roles. However, because nurses deal with "people" rather than "objects", it is difficult for them to objectivize subjective information on clients. In order to ensure the quality of information, it is important to minimize differences between the context assumed by nurses and the actual context of physicians when nurses are transmitting information on patients to physicians. The emotional labor of nurses reduces these differences and helps ensure the quality of information.
Recently, there are various and many problems on information quality in various social organizations, although all kinds of information are increasing more and more. This article presents the Information Quality Framework designed by Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Lean Production System. The performance of the Information Quality Framework was discussed based on several practical examples which succeeded in improving information quality on a hospital and pharmaceutical company. Furthermore the Four Event Analysis is proposed as a tool of KIZEN process management.
This study describes a role of service logic for clinical pathway service architecture. To create services for clinical pathway, it is necessary to change the contents of services depending on information in real time. As clinical pathway service architecture, three levels are suggested: CP Collaboration as a Service, CP Development as a Service, CP Evaluation as a Service. Those levels are composed by situational active API which is constructed by service logic.
Information system in financial business is a very important social infrastructure. Although it deals with customers' property and connects various outside networks, and its risk management is very complicate and difficult, there is no guideline for the top management. Therefore this study shows six points of crucial risk management views on the development of information system which the top management should take them into consideration.
This article analyzes the process of organizational innovation based on the case study of Raffles Medical Group (RMG) in Singapore. In order to understand the process of innovation, important is that we are to discuss not only the resultant structural change but also the process of innovation. First, it is introduced a comprehensive model of the innovation process of organization. Namely, by integrating diachronically garbage can model, evolutionary model of organizing, and contingency theory, the process of innovation is generally described. Second, we discuss the way longitudinally how RMG created the enacted environments confronting in its ecological changes, and how it implemented organizational innovation to adapt to its enacted environments were in-vented by itself.
In this paper, I discuss about differences of word-of-mouth platforms. Preceding studies had clarified many things. But, they only had paid attention to single platform. I focused on relation of platforms, and compared "amazon" and "rakuten-books" as word-of-mouth platform by text-mining. In the result, two platforms had remarkable differences.
