    With the accelerating evolution and growth of “IoT ; Internet of Things” in recent years, societies andindustries in the world are advancing faster than our expectation. This is the result of rapidly developing various technologies, thus we are forced to understand those technologies more deeply and to develop human resources who can operate the IoT more easily. The paper first describes the progress of IoT, then today’s situation of cyber security technologies. Today’s progress is too fast, so that we need an advanced education method to make human resources to catch up with this rapid flow. What is desired and what is needed will be described at the end of this paper.

    In current emerging IoT (the Internet of Things) era, many solutions based on IoT technology are going to be adopted toward in various business fields even in critical social infrastructure. While this technological evolution evokes dramatically change on industrial infrastructure, attackers would be able to penetrate into and compromise easier than ever.In other words, risks of cyberattack in IoT could not be underestimated and ignored. As IoT technology includes many specific features different from legacy IT system, we need sophisticated approach to enhance IoT security. In this paper we will clarify important view points and some practical approach after overviewing recent threat landscape in IoT era.

    40 years have passed since the first books on risk management were published in 1978. We have seen various frameworks on risk management up to ISO 31000 (2009) or ERM (2017). This paper treats a trial of new framework based on the author’s study on decision making as risk management such as ‘3 Cs’, ‘CSR’ and ‘Ri of Risk Management’. In order to illustrate these frameworks, we conclude to show examples in medical organizations.

    The term “security” covers a wider concept than simply crime prevention or countermeasures against information leakage. Although security is one of the most important considerations for modern society, security has not uniquely defined and is used in a variety of contexts which can often lead to misunderstandings. To address this problem, we propose a context insensitive concept of security and a new systematic approach for embodying the security which is applicable in any case. Generalized security can be viewed as maintaining smooth operations even in the face of disturbances. Using this context insensitive notion of security and by taking hints from some philosophical methodology, we can ponder the essential meaning of security, or the common goal that medicine and state-of-the-art information technologies such as AI, IoT, Cloud, Big Data, Mobile, etc. should pursue.

    LASCOM has been operating the disaster management satellite communication network since 1991. It was used as an indispensable network, especially in case of national disasters like the Great East Japan Earthquake. Over 20 years after, many local governments have faced the difficulty to repair and replace the satellite earth station. Some local towns and cities have stopped installing the new satellite station because of their tight financial conditions. On the other hand, the required functionalities of the network have been changed over time. IP data communications, Internet access and video forwarding & sharing have got more priorities. In order to accommodate those requirements, the base technologies of the network have to be changed to the globally adopted one. This paper examines the changing requirements and proposes the needed functionalities and technologies for the satellite network.

    With population ageing, the demand for medical care and nurcing care has been growing lately. It isdesirable that the demand is effectively and efficiently satisfied in the community where the elderly have lived for a long time. To do so, we need the cooperation between medical care provider, long-term care provider and the related organs in the community. ICT is a means to support the cooperation. This paper introduces a case of information system supporting community-based medical cooperation. And this paper describes that development method of medical cooperation infrastructure that enables prototyping approach and emergent approach should be studied.

    This paper has been written to present the new angle for healthcare service, and discusses the healthcare service of Gamification. The analysis to the effect of healthcare service by Gamification is not yet presented. So that, this paper firstly discusses the factor characteristics of Gamification, and the generation of motivation of healthcare. Next, this paper discusses the usefulness of healthcare service by Gamification from a theoretical and empirical analysis by using the case study of “ARUITE OTOKU” by docomo healthcare Inc. with use of Gamification which influences motivation and engagement of user. As a result, this paper proves that healthcare service by Gamification breaks larger goals into smaller practical challenges, encouraging users as they progress through levels, and engages them emotionally to achieve their very best, and that healthcare service by Gamification is useful to issues of “super-aging” society.

    In this study, relation between user’s engagement and motivation in Gamification. It describes the broad trend of applying game mechanics to non-game environments to motivate people and change behavior. It is increasingly popular as means of enhancing user interest and usability in various sectors. The following results were obtained: Gamification has a deep connection with user’s engagement and motivation. People are motivated by maintaining a sense of autonomy, progressing toward mastery, and engaging with a purpose larger than themselves. In conclusion Gamification is very relevant to health care services. Gamification will be inspired by offering extrinsic and intrinsic rewards to direct behavioral changes. Gamification is that it uses a digital model to extend engagement and motivation, breaking the barriers of scale, time, distance, connectedness, and cost.

    There has been a great discussion about the management in the new product development (NPD). The present study discusses importance to analyze the “competitive market position” in the NPD. The competitive market position can be classified into two categories according to the relationship with competitors. The two kinds of the competitive market position are “direct competition” and “indirect competition”. In addition, it can be concluded that, as far as the analytical science market is concerned, there is dominant competitive market position. The concept of competitive market position helps the NPD to success.

    This study aimed to understand the structure of Pokémon GO’s business model, focusing on the associated sponsored location program. Using our model based on mixed bundling theory, we are able to show the price conditions for increasing profits for the Pokémon GO provider and its affiliates.

    Although the sustainability of regional activities has been discussed in previous studies, such research tends to focus on strong leadership. On the other hand, this study attempts to introduce the concept of “platform” and “rule” in order to not overly rely on leadership. Moreover, the three examples, which occurred almost at the same time, are compared and then interpreted through the concepts of “platform” and “rule.” Finally, we concluded that these concepts are useful to promote regional activities and to contribute towards their sustainability.

    This research is intended to create a conceptual model to properly choose the agile method in Internet of Things (IoT) implementation project, and to provide a management methodology insight based on the case study of Smart City and Factory IoT. Researches have illuminated a trend of cases using the agile method, and project management organizations have been facing needs of systematic evaluation technologies to choose an appropriate management method. To address those issues, this paper aims at discussing managerial implications of author’s past study on Agile project management survey studies, and then at presenting the effective area of the agile methods in IoT Project by constructing three viewpoints: Project characteristics. Project architecture and Project lifecycle.
