As the result of mass production, mass consumption, and mass disposal socioeconomic system, excessive consumption of energy and natural resources, heavy emission of greenhouse gas, and heavy output of waste materials have been brought. The purpose of socio-environmental management is to decrease the burden of business activities on the environment. Institutes or companies are expected to cope with the introduction of building systems for socio-environmental management to comply with the tacit requests of society. Systematic procedures such as Material Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA) and EcoAction 21 of Japan are effective as powerful tools for environmental management, especially considering greenhouse gas emissions and energy/materials balance.
This article reviews JEMAI activities for supporting industries which have been taking many kinds of countermeasures, responding to the industrial pollution to recent environmental issues such as global warming.
Toyota's goals of environmental activities are contributing to growth of sustainable society and earth through monozukuri, coexisting with the global environment, making cars and offering quality products and services. In order to achieve it, Toyota focuses on three key themes; "Establishing a low-carbon society", "Establishing a recycling-based society" and "Environmental protection and establishing a society in harmony with nature" and goes ahead with everyday activities developing action plans and goals in the Toyota's corporate activity fields of development and design, procurement, production, logistics, sales and recycling. Toyota is globally implementing these activities with more than 500 affiliates worldwide. As a way of it, Toyota established activities of regional environment committee structures and further activities are being made locally. We think that continuous environmental improvements can be done by steadily playing each person's responsibilities with"Genchi-genbutsu", "Visualization", "To management participants", "All in it together" and "Best practice" as a keyword.
Approximately 6,000 institutions had qualified for EcoAction 21 certification and registration by the end of 2010. EcoAction 21 has been widely implemented as an environmental management system by small and medium enterprises. Characteristics of EcoAction 21 and its system requirements are introduced, and the state and the future problems of the current EcoAction 21 are summarized.
Panasonic announced its new vision for the year of 2018, the 100th anniversary of its founding as becoming the "No.1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry," in January 2010. In the vision, the company accelerates the group-wide initiatives for global environmental issues including climate change and resource depletion as two key pillars, aiming to integrate contribution to the environment with business growth by making the "environment" central to all business activities without any exception. This article describes Panasonic's plans to accelerate its environmental management, two major initiatives of CO_2 reduction and resources recycling and the measurement to visualize its efforts for 2018.
Introducing material flow cost accounting (MFCA) into the supply chain is a very important issue to promote environmental conservation by companies. However, it is very difficult to conduct this because the differences of companies may disturb to introduce such a tool within the supply chain. This paper examines the significance and issues for introducing MFCA into the supply chain based on the results from METI's project on enhancing resource efficiency in the supply chain. Finally, some proposals for future development are presented.
Industrial cleaning technology is one of the Monodzukuri basic technologies, and at the same time, it is an essential technological element to apply to other many Monodzukuri basic technologies. About twenty years ago, in order to protect the ozone layer in the stratosphere, we have coped with the phase-out of the ozone depleting substances in the industrial cleaning processes by the global scale team work. That success story is receiving more attention again as useful information to prevent the global warming. As emission restriction of alternative fluorocarbons, one of global warming gases, is under investigation by the Council of Industrial Structure in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, this paper intends to inspect the progress of the activities of the ozone layer protection in one field of monodzukuri.
In this paper, we reveal the vital drivers and barriers of implementing Green Supply Chain (GSC) through a holistic review of GSC studies which have been conducted from the end of last century. This paper also generalizes the achievements in this field through the analysis of GSC studies, and concludes the primary issues of GSC development. Apart from that, we analyze two cases to verify our arguments and provide a concept model of establishing GSC. Finally, the development tendency of Sustainable Supply Chain (SSC) studies is suggested and a demand centric framework to resolve the various issues of SSC is proposed.

And evaluation the design and application in this point of view. For environmental protection and reduction of consumption of resources in all production activities, evaluate environmental load reduction plans and operations management system in manufacturing. At last, take the discharge of carbon dioxide and air pollutants in logistics as the reduction countermeasures, to evaluate the efficiency of transport. It can also import conversion mode and develop logistics system with low environmental load.
Low carbon economy has become one of the important items of China's in next Five-Year Plan. Accordingly, Chengdu chooses low carbon economy as a main construction project in building the world of modern garden city. The emphasis of the development of low carbon economy reduces industrial carbon emission. This paper analyzes the situation of rapid growth in the industrial economy, the comparison of the development of three industries and industrial energy consumption during recent years. Furthermore, the current overall trends of carbon emission, the change in the composing of three industries and the reasons of the annual increasing of the carbon emission are analyzed. This paper focuses on discussing the industrial carbon sources. Meanwhile, the carbon emissions of the important industrial carbon sources in Chengdu, such as steel, cement, flat glass and synthetic ammonia are also calculated. To sum up, this paper summarizes the main problems of the development of industrial low carbon. On the basis of above analysis conclusions, some concrete schemes of low carbon production for industrial enterprises are designed, especially in the four major carbon sources.
The consumers' behavior of recycling waste electric and electronic equipment (WEEE) in China was empirically studied by a questionnaire survey. The aim is to solve three issues: (1) measuring the overall condition of the consumers' behavior of recycling WEEE, (2) analyzing the main factors influencing the consumers' behavior of recycling WEEE, and (3) identifying whether demographic characteristics has an effect on the consumers' behavior of recycling WEEE.
In recent years, the green economy has got a lot of attention worldwide, thus fulfillment of environmental responsibility of an enterprise has also been emphasized. Prior studies conducted in this area indicated that corporation environmental responsibility fulfillment relates to employee's attitude and behavior In this paper we have use 302 questioners respond collected from a state-own enterprise in south china to analyze the effect of environmental responsibility implement on employee's attitude and behavior. The empirical results suggest that the corporation's fulfillment of environmental responsibility will improve employees to higher level of work engagement, as well as more organizational citizenship behavior. A general and summary of research findings is provided as well as the implications of corporation management practice.

This paper reveals the objectivity of management ineffectiveness and the main causes for "mismatched management" and "management mismatch", defines the connotation of managerial hierarchy and proves, through mathematical methods, examples and logical reasoning, that Stratified management is able to optimize management outcome and reduce management ineffectiveness thus establish a theoretical framework and logical model for Stratified management. The findings show that when the management theory and its target can match well with each other, an optimized management outcome will be achieved. It thus suggests that a meticulous Stratified system should be put into place and the Stratified management theory should be popularized to enhance management effectiveness and efficiency.
Global e-Trade means the electronic trade among trading partners across the countries. It encompasses domestic and overseas business processes, including B2B and B2G activities. It needs the efficient, fast, and accurate flow of information among all parties involved that have different information systems. To achieve the benefits of global e-Trade, standardized electronic documents or messages are essential. In this paper, focusing on the strategic importance of international standards such as UN/EDIFACT for VAN/EDI and ebXML for XML/EDI, we review the diverse efforts to adopt them for realizing the paperless trade or global e-Trade across the countries.
