    There are methods to obtain“color X-ray image”, the one is coler-TV system and the other are color film system.
    The colr-TV system is made up to X-ray film on the view box of which images are picked up by a TV-camera, and density-range of each level of film is colored on the color monitor. By this method we can get twelve different colored color X-ray image.
    The color film system is same to the routine radiography, but used special color film instead of the X-ray film and its development are performed special color development.
    By this method we can get seven different colored color X-ray image.

    This system which displays the result of dividing photographic density values precisely was developed using digital process and color television technique.
    This system will contribute toward remote sensing and field of image data compaction by recording and analizing reflection and transparency rate of energy of visible ray, infrared ray, thermal ray, x-ray and ultra sonic on film.
    This system divides slight difference of density values of the photograph into twelve different color, separates the equal density areas from other density, and planimate electronically with high speed.
    This system enables the analysis of picture with computor and it's interface is prepared.
    This new system will intract between the accuracy and quickness of machine, and the pattern recognition of man.
    As the result, advanced data processing will be realizing accurately.

    It is a very important subject for our country to survey physical processes of rocky mudflow causing serious damages in mountaineous regions. In order to carry out an systematic and exact observation on moving state of rocky mudflow, a new synthetic observation system was developed by Mudflow Research Group.
    The system consists of velocity sensors connected with time recorder for the measurement of local variation of front velocity and 8 mm cine cameras, 16 mm cine camera, 35 mm constant interval shot camera, video camera and stereo cameras, which are ready for automatic recording of moving pattern and form of mudflow.
    In addition to the system, rain gauges and mud samplers were set in the same observation area to study water balance and physical property of flowing substance.
    After a preliminary test in 1970, a field test of the whole system was carried on in 1971 at Valley Kamihori on eastern slope of Mt. Yake, North Japan Alps.
    In the morning on 6 th, Sept. 1971, our new system succeeded in recording the motion of rocky mudflow several times, and valuable information about mudflow was got in relation to hydrological and microtopographical conditions.
    A general explanation on the observation system and a part of the results obtained from field test in 1971 are described in this paper.

    In the designated district to the Matsumoto Sabo Construction Work Office, Ministry of Construction, there are many mountain streams having been troubled by the rucky mudflow damages.
    To investigate the cause of the rocky mudflow, many experiments together with the actual prevention works for the rocky mudflow have been done by the members belonged to this office.
    This report introduces briefly the general view of the organization and methods on the rucky mudflow investigation in our office.
