To evaluate the run o in the river, at irst, we must estimate rainall to basin o the river. Only a rough method is used or it at present, thereore we developed a new method capable to estimate exactly rainall with the aerological observations.
We perormed a test on this method to the River Takara water system and obtained the satisactory results.

Recent developements in analytical photogrammetry seem to be remarkable, especially with the expansion in the ield o its application, and also the demand or higheraccuracies in photogrammetric surveying is growing day by day, throwing beore us many interesting problems.
Due to the recent developments in analytical photogrammetry, we have become convinced that these problems can be solved. Having been engaged in analytical photogrammetry during the past six years, we recently examined the inluence of the lens distortion on accuracies, and we ound that it was unexpectedly large. In this paper, we will discuss the problems which we had to deal with and the particular applications o the results.
First o all, the method o analysis and the corrections or symmetric and asymmetric radial lens distortions will be shown and secondly we will make observations rom various standpoints on the phenomena which appeared in the actual examples when applied the lens distortion correction i. e. the inluence on a single model, on a strip and on the relation between the bending coeicient o a strip and the variations o orientation elements caused by the lens distortions.

Recently, many industrial facories have beeu constructed along the beach on the new land reclamation areas in Japan. For the electric power supply to these big factories, electric air cables are set across the sea and rivers, often crossing shipping routes. Many accidents have occurred from ships contacting the cable as they pass under it, and nowadays many ocean freighters visit Japan from overseas. To measure the height or the vertical clearance of these cables, the authors used the method of terrestrial photogrammetry. When using the classical method of determining the height of cable over the water, it is difficult to identify of the same point on the wire from different observation points. The photogrammetric method, which is much less laborious, is a superior to the classical method in the following respects:
    1. The field work can be done in a shorter time with the same required accuracy.
    2. As the condition of the object at the time of photographing can be reproduced at any time later by using a plotting instrument, the result of plotting and measurement can be checked again later with ease.
    3. The co-ordinates of the points on the cable are also recorded in type on a sheet of paper by the EK 3 automatic co-ordinate printer attached to the plotting instrument A7.
Photography was done on the 2nd of Nov. 1963 using two bases of length 24.272m and 19.205m.
The plates which were used were fine-grain orthoplate, S. G. 10 made by akura Co. Ltd. in Japan.
The control points used for the orientation were surveyed with the T. M. 10 Sokkisha theodolite. These control points were set along the beach. The results of measurement with the A 7 autograph were checked against the design catenary formula anb also compared with the control co-orbinates, which were measured in the field. From these data, it was found that photogrammetry can be used very effectively with a high accuracy in a limited time.

We have carried out a meteorological measurement activity as one of the undamental investigations or the bridging project over the Straits of Akashi using the following method. While one aircraft is flying across the Straits of Akashi emitting smoke at an altitude of 60 meter which is the bridging height, Synchronous Air Photographs are then taken with two other aircrafts from a higher altitude than the aforesaid one so that stereo photographs of the emitted smoke from low altitude aircraft can be taken.
Wind velocity and wind direction at bridging altitude of 60 m are then measured photogrammetry rom stereo photographs of the smoke trail. Thus these stereo photographs provide us with information that is necessary to analyse the air currents from a meteorological stand point.
