KOSEI, introduced from abroad from the twenties to the thirties of the nineteenth century, has become the basis of the fundamental education in today’s design, especially in Visual Communication Design. ( It has been utilized as the system to study the foundation of figurative arts.)
KOSEI, in Japan, different from the Education of Design before then, has been emphasized on the repeated exercises using the abstract forms. It is characteristic that the device to establish the image into the forms has been done, by using Spanunng, Contrast, or Opposite Words.

Pendulum Pattern, which was one of the non-graphics way, was well-developed in art, design and phototechnical area. The forms of Pendulum Pattern, which is defferent from the general expression in graphics. Today, the study of Pendulum Pattern itself is not developed as it is difficult to describe the basic rule. In this study, I describe Pendulum Pattern generated rules by mathematical principle modeling based on theories of non-linear dynamical systems. As a result I comfirmed the following. (1)By analysis of speed, the elucidation of Pendulum Pattern's quality of form is possible. (2)The conditions of mass point ejection determine Pendulum Pattern's quality of form. (3)The motion of a point mass restricted on the sphere surface influences velocity changes.

It has been reported a plane figure catches the psychological influence by layout angle in a field of vision, and the geometric relations of the figure are different from objective relations. In previous research paper, when vertexes of square were near in verticality and horizontally, apparent size was tended to large. In this study, we examined it about the influence that the difference of the layout angle gave to apparent size of the figure that’s aspect ratio is different from square.

A surface texture is an important factor that affects a product Kansei quality. People perceive a quality of surface texture using different sensory modalities, e.g. vision and touch, and switches them through an interaction with a product, e.g., we see and then touch a product surface. Between such sensory modality transitions, we often expect subsequent modal perceptions using a prior modality, e.g. predicting tactile quality of a product from its appearance before touching. The authors assume that the prior expectation using a modality affects the posterior experience using another modality. In this paper, we propose an evaluation method that identifies the visual expectation effects on tactual experiences. In the method, we synthesize combinations of visual and tactile samples using a half-mirror. Evaluators compare the synthesized samples with a set of real samples used as a tactile scale and select real samples that corresponds to the synthesized samples. We demonstrate the appropriateness of the method with analysis results using plastic texture samples having different textures, which are commonly used in a product design.

The most important quality of security printed products is their ability to gain social trust. To gain social trust, security printing employs many forms of anti-counterfeiting measures. Aesthetics (such as rich, dignified designs) that speak of history and technical sophistication are also necessary to further enhance credibility. These aspects form the key to achieving security printed products with higher credibility.

At an operationg room, many monitors  for general care are in disorder. They might cause an  anesthesiologist to overlook something important about   a patient and fatigue with finding information from many monitors. In this research, we try to approach this subject  in two point of view, contents and shape of a monitor. We propose using HMD(head mounted dispray) to show imformation about a patient because it can show imformation in an anesthesiologist's field of vision.

Stimulation of Hans-off experience is image viewing, and stimulation of Hands-on experience is drawing. I analyse ratings of the subjects’ mood by using a shortened version of POMS. The POMS measure of mood after Hands-off stimulation reveal reduction of "tension - anxiety", "depression - dejection", "anger - hostility", "vigor", "fatigue", and "confusion"; on the other hand, Hands-on stimulation increased "vigor". Subjects’ mood after Hands-on stimulation, compared with that before Hands-off stimulation, exhibited continued reduction of "tension - anxiety", "depression - dejection", "anger - hostility", "fatigue", and "confusion".

The brand-new apparatus (rue Navi) was used for painting the pattern on road surface. The length of the painted road is 260m, which is a part of 4km campus road. The idea, that painted pattern is a zelkova tree, is based on the street name (Keyaki Dori / zelkova avenue). As a result, the speed of the car is reduced, and the quality of landscape is improved.

This study attempts to shed new light on the Modern Design movement in Krakow, Poland, by exploring the early activities of the “Krakow Workshops” (1913-1926). The Workshops, a cooperative of artists and craftsmen similar to the “Vienna Workshops”, succeeded the nationalistically characterized applied art movement in Krakow around 1900. The designers aimed for solid production rather than romantic handicrafts. Their design connected both nationalism and Western tendencies and reveals the process of expansion and transformation of the Modern Design movement in Central Europe.

The paper extracts the characteristics of craftsperson’s employment system for porcelain production in Jjingdezhen by field survey. The following are the findings:
    1. The porcelain production in Jjingdezhen today is based on the division of labor restored by the traditional hand-made work studios.
    2. Each studio centered by the owner and kiln holder performs the specialized activities in each production process, which are to be closely geared to the complete porcelain production.
    3. The employment system has been infiltrated not only in the management and trading, but also in the culture of living and family bond.
    4. The specialized employment system, as opposed to the mechanized mass production, is unique in light that it stopped the downfall of Jjingdezhen.
