The cestode fauna of the bats in the Hokuriku District was investigated from the standpoint of host-parasite relationship. It is inspected how bats in this district have interrelations with conspecific populations in various places of Japan. Specimens of Rhinolophus ferrumequinum nippon collected in six caves of the Noto Peninsula and Oguchi-mura, Ishikawa Prefecture and in the western part of Toyama Prefecture were infected with Hymenolepis rashomonensis peculiar to this bat, but specimens of R. cornutus cornutus in these caves were not infected with cestodes. R. ferrumequinum nippon in three places (Atago-iwaya, Nikoi-do and Ueyama-tunnel) of the Hida area of Gifu Prefecture was infected with H. rashomonesis; some individuals were infected with Vampirolepis iwatensis and H. rashomonensis. R. c. cornutus from Atago-iwaya was infected with V. isensis peculiar to this bat. From the standpoint of bats' cestode fauna the following distributional connections among bats are presumed: R. ferrumequinum, nippon living in Ishikawa Prefecture, the western part of Toyama Prefecture and the Hida area of Gifu Prefecture have intercommunications with those in various places of Japan, some individuals of R. ferrumequinum nippon living in a partjrf the Hida area (Ueyamatunnel and Nikoi-do) with those in the districts along the northern part of the Sea of Japan north of Toyama Prefecture, and R. c. cornutus from Atago-iwaya with those in various places of Japan, though this bat is sporadically distributed in the Noto Peninsula and the western part of Toyama Prefecture.
