A new davained cestode, Raillietina (Raillietina) bungoensis, is described from a wild pigeon, Columba livia domestica, collected at Beppu City, Oita Pref. in 1985. R. (R.) bungoensis most closely resembles R. (R.) kirghizica, but differs from it in longer rostellar hooks, smaller number of testes, smaller number of egg capsule in each proglottid and shape of ovary (monolobate vs. bilobate).

A new atylid species. Atylus Occidentalis, was found during the ecological research of the marine benthic animals in Otsuchi Bay, Iwate Prefecture. This species is closely related to Atylus tridens (ALDERMAN), from North-east Pacific in the shape of the posterodistal producing lobes of each basis of the pereopods 3 and 5, but clearly distinguished from it by the shape of the telson not longer than broad. A new crab of the family Grapsidae, Varuna yui, is described on the specimens found in rivers of northeastern Taiwan as the third representative of the genus. It is closely related to V. litterata (FABRICIUS) which is widely distributed in fresh, brackish and estuarine waters of the whole Indo-West Pacific region, but distinguished from it most readily by the different shape of the male first pleopod. Its possible occurrence in the wide area of the Indo-West Pacific together with V. litterata is suggested.

Based on the morphological characteristics, a new species of the genus Pirata from Marunuma, Gunma Pref. is described and illustrated under the name of P. hiroshii. Honshu, Japan. It is closely related to P. hygrophilus THORELL, but differs from it in the structure of the female epigynum. The new species inhabits in streamlets of mountains.

The routs of synhospitalic distribution of the Drosophilella species are estimated with special regard to the host plants. A couple of new synhospitalic species, baechlii and bogneri, obtained from the flowers of Homalomena lancifolia Hook. f. (Araceae) in Malaysia and another new species, iskandari, found synhospitalic with D. colocasiae DUDA on the flowers of Colocasia esculenta SCHOTT (Araceae) in Indonesia are described.

Presence of minute spicules is reported in the stomach, pyloric caecum and gonad of Ctenodiscus crispatus. Numerous minute spicules are present in the stomach, median canal of the pyloric caecum and gonoduct of the testis. The shape of common spicules in each organ is shown. The minute spicules of the testis are perforated. Those in the stomach and pyloric caecum are simpler than those in the testis.
