Two new and one rare species are described : A new species of the genus Eunice, E. profunda, recorded from the depth of more than 900 m is closely related with E. kobiensis, but can be distinguished from it by the shape of compound falcigers ; Eunice palauensis collected from the Bungo Channel differs from all other species of the genus by their symmetrically arranged maxillae ; A new species of the genus Euniphysa, E. misakiensis, described on the specimen from near Misaki has black acicula and well developed branchiae, but no pseudocompound spinigers.

Four specimen belonging to three species of the genus Gennadas having external characteristics of both males and females were obtained from among meso- and bathypelagic penaeid shrimps in the western North Pacific, and descriptions of them are presented. This is the first record of the occurrence of hermaphroditism in the penaeid shrimps. A brief review of sexual abnormalities in shrimps is also given.

A new species of pagurid hermit crab, Porcellanopagurus belauensis, is described from the Palau Islands. This is closely related to P. japonicus BALSS and P. edwardsi FILHOL, but is distinguished from them by the characteristic shape of the carapace and fourth to fifth legs.

A new species, Eremobelba Okinawa, and a new subspecies, Mixacarus exilis foveolatus, are described from Kume-jima Island of the Ryukyu Islands. Austrocarabodes szentivanyi (BALOGH et MAHUNKA) is recorded for the first time from Japan.

Although Iheringia hondoensis SAITO was originally described as a member of the family Palpimanidae, its systematic position has been problematical. An examination of the specimens from Kyoto Prefecture reveals that this species belongs to the gnaphosid genus Odontodrassus JEZEQUEL which is new to the Japanese fauna. The species is redescribed based on the both sexes.

Two new species of the genus Drosophilella DUDA are described from Java, one associated with Colocasia gigantea HOOK, f. (Araceae) and another with Arenga pinnata MERRILL (Palmae). D. monoconica TODA et OKADA is synonymized with D. colocasiae DUDA and new distribution records of D. colocasiae and D. diconica TODA et OKADA are given. Taximetrical analyses are made of 13 species of this genus.

One specimen belonging to the genus Paragonaster, which was collected from off Yuki, Tokushima Pref., was examined. This specimen shows an intermediate character between P. etenipes ctenipes SLADEN and P. ctenipes hypacanthus FISHER. Thus the basis to establish the subspecies no longer exists and the present specimen is referable to P. ctenipes. Description on this specimen is given in some detail.
