The blood survey was carried out in Iraq by the first author, and 319 of Rana ridibunda and 73 of Bufo viridis viridis were collected. Five species of trypanosomes, Trypanosoma loricatum, T. rotatorium, T. chattoni, T. neveulemairei, and T. pseudomiyagii n. sp., Haemogregarina arabica, Dactylosoma ranarum, "Cytamoeba", and microfilaria were detected in R. ridibunda, but no parasite was detected in B. viridis viridis. Up until this time T, neveulemairei had been found only in Rana esculenta from Corsica by BRUMPT (1928). T. pseudomiyagii n. sp. is a large trypanosome (body length 68.6-85.7 μm) and is closely related to Trypanosoma miyagii MIYATA, 1978.

A new cyclopoid copepod, Lichomolgus nakaii, was found in the branchial cavity and the intestines of the edible simple ascidian Halocynthia roretzi collected from the Pacific coast of northern Honshu, Japan. The new species is the fourth with four claws on the second antenna and the first associated with ascidian. It can be clearly distinguished from congeners by the possession of the shortest caudal rami, the form of genital segment, and the presence of one outer denticulate projection on the second segment of the fourth endopod.

The glaucothoe of Dardanus crassimanus was described based on specimens reared from the egg in the laboratory. They differ from the previously investigated glaucothoe of the genus Dardanus in the following features : A longitudinal ridge flanked by grooves laterally from the tip of the rostrum to the posterior end of the anterior shield ; a pair of elliptical hollows on the shield ; the movable structure of the teeth-like ventral processes on the dactylii of the second and third pereiopods ; the number of articulation of the antennal flagella ; and the numbers of armatures on the appendages and telson.

Six taxa belonging to the laminata group of the genus Parafontaria, laminata, l. monticola, armigera, kuhlgatzi, k. montana, and aculeata, are revised on the basis of an examination of materials from various parts of Japan. Parafontaria armigera is regarded as a subspecies of P. laminata and a senior synonym of P. kuhlgatzi montana and P. l. monticola. Parafontaria kuhlgatzi and aculeata are synonymous. The group of P. laminata in Japan is arranged as follows : Parafontaria laminata laminata (ATTEMS), P. l. armigera VERHOEFF, P. kuhlgatzi VERHOEFF and P. echizenensis SHINOHARA.

A new species of the genus Ctenothrips FRANKLIN named C. nonnae is described and illustrated from Japan. This species occurs on the leaves of Kinugasa japonica of Liliaceae which is distributed only in subalpine and alpine regions of Honshu, the Japan Mainland. All specimens examined exhibit the micropterous wing form. This is the first record of the genus from Japan.

Eleven new species of the genus Microdrosophila MALLOCH, M. (Oxystyloptera) magniflava, M. (O.) honoghensis, M. (Microdrosophila) conda, M. (M.) curvula, M. (M.) setulosa, M. (M.) dentata, M. (M.) luchunensis, M. (M.) bipartita, M. (M.) spiciferipennis, M. (M.) cucullata and M. (M.) tabularis, are described from Yunnan, China, with new distribution records for eight known species. A key to the Chinese species is included.
