Two new species of hymenolepidid cestodes, Vampirolepis mesopotamlana and Hymenolepis rhinopomae, were found in bats collected at Haditha, Iraq, in September 1985. The former new species from Asellia tridens murraiana J. ANDERSON resembles eight known species of Vampirolepis armed with 22-30 rostellar hooks measuring 0.018-0.022 mm long, but differs from all of them in the shape of rostellar hooks. The latter new species from Rhinopoma microphyllum BRUNNICH closely resembles H. scotophili SAWADA et HARADA, 1988, but differs from it in the longer neck, the position of genital pores, the arrangement of testes and the shape of ovary. Unidentified juvenile Raillietina is reported from Pipistrellus kuhli ikhwanius CHEESMAN et HINTON.

New polychaete species of the genus Poecilochaetus are described on the basis of the specimens collected from the Seto Inland Sea and from the central Pacific coast of Japan during the cruises of research vessels, "Seisui-maru", "Tansei-maru" and "Toyoshio-maru". The new species P. branchiatus differs from other branchiate poecilochaetids in having only four pairs of ampullaceous postsetal lobes instead of five pairs or more. Another new species P. toyoshiomarae is characterized by the presence of very short nuchal organs and knobbed setae, and the absence of aristate setae.

Larvae of a hermit crab, Dardanus crassimanus (H. MILNE-EDWARDS), were reared in the laboratory from egg to the glaucothoe. Seven stages in the zoeal development have been recognized on the morphological features. In this paper, the zoeal stages are described in detail with figures, and compared with those of allied species of the family Diogenidae. They differ from those of D. arrosor (HERBST), the only species of certainly known parentage in the same genus, in the following characteristics. 1) No scale-like structures on the carapace. 2) No dorsal carina on the base of the rostrum. 3) Only one seta on the antennal endopod in the fourth to the final zoeae. 4) A terminal spine on the exopod of uropod of the same stage zoea. 5) Small body size in the early zoeae.

A new species of marine interstitial ostracod of the genus Microloxoconcha is reported from Kushiro, on the Pacific coast of Hokkaido. This is the first record of the genus from Japan and also from subarctic region. Although the present new species is distinguished from congeneric species known so far mainly by the structure of appendages, it is characterized by having very similar morphology of both carapaces and appendages to M. subterranea GOTTWALD, 1983 from Hawaii.
