L'article est essentiellement consacre a une comparaison entre deux editions successives du roman Adam et Eve de l'ecrivain vaudois Charles Ferdinand Ramuz, editions dont les textes presentent de multiples variations. En marge de sa description, ce cas particulier permet d'aborder un questionnement sur le statut du texte imprime moderne, que la genetique textuelle envisage dans sa variation.

Avant la colonisation francaise, l'enseignement de l'arabe reposait en Tunisie sur l'enseignement du Coran. L'objectif de Louis Machuel, premier directeur de l'enseignement public dans le protectorat, consistait a mettre en oeuvre un enseignement laique de l'arabe parle aux Francais, dans un but plus pratique que litteraire, puisque cet enseignement devait servir la politique coloniale du Protectorat. Il a essaye d'enseigner l'arabe parle aux maitres francais au moyen de la pedagogie bilingue, et aux colons qui en avaient besoin pour coexister avec les Arabes. Sa politique linguistique visait, entre autre, a creer une relation harmonieuse entre les Francais et les indigenes pour faire barrage aux tentatives d'hegemonie des Italiens.

Tout le monde en Suisse connait la fameuse boutade de Franz Schultheis (1995) : ≪ La Suisse est plurilingue mais les Suisses ne le sont pas ! ≫. S'il existe une conception constitutionnelle d'une nation a quatre langues nationales, soit le francais, l'allemand, l'italien et le romanche, les mesures federales concernant l'apprentissage reciproque obligatoire des langues nationales au niveau des cantons, rencontrent quelques difficultes, notamment avec l'irresistible ascension de l'anglais. Dans ces rapports, parfois conflictuels, entre communaute francophone et communaute germanophone, nous nous poserons des questions sur le statut du francais qui est a la fois une langue maternelle, une langue seconde et une langue etrangere en Suisse. Nous analyserons les representations communement repandues sur la langue du ≪ voisin ≫ et les consequences de ces representations non seulement sur l'enseignement du francais langue seconde / langue etrangere en Suisse alemanique mais aussi sur les comportements quotidiens des habitants, notamment dans un canton bilingue (francais / allemand) comme Fribourg.

L'enseignement du francais comme deuxieme langue etrangere dans le contexte universitaire chinois, pour un public etudiant (bac+5) dit nonspecialiste en langue etrangere, n'a pas donne tous les resultats que l'on en escomptait. Plusieurs facteurs ont montre que les activites en classe etaient soumises a des contraintes multiples. Dans le present article, nous essayons d'analyser les caracteristiques de cette situation educative en milieu universitaire en les regroupant en deux grands ensembles : les contraintes absolues, c'est-a-dire les contraintes qui constituent un embarras majeur au sein de l'enseignement, et les contraintes negociables, sur lesquelles on peut intervenir en fonction du public dans une situation cible. L'identification de ces contraintes invite a reflechir a la variete des choix pour fonder un enseignement adapte aux etudiants.
