The sampling model has been used to reconstruct from few projection data. In CT, since the receive sensor is abundant, a good reconstruction image is obtained. However, they want to reduce the number of sensors from the cost side in an ocean and an industrial field. Moreover, it is hoped to reconstruct at high speed even if the image quality is a little deteriorated. So we have been examining the WMR method by the wavelet sampling function. In the WMR method, the projection number near a sensor decreases and a reconstruction picture becomes bad. Then, we report on the Multi-WMR method which uses the multi sampling function to which the sampling function is changed according to the projection distance.

In this paper, we propose a color transform method for realizing barrier free of color defective vision. Human beings is perceiving colors by a ratio of a reaction value by three kinds of cones in a retina. The three cones have different sensitivity to a wavelength of light. Nevertheless, dichromats, who are lacking of a sensitivity of one of cones, tends to be difficult for discriminating the colors of a certain combination. The proposed techniques make new images by transforming color for creating visible color. Based on confusion color theory, the proposed technique realizes the visible images for dichromats by changing the specific color in several regions of images.

In this thesis, the outline extraction method of the pinna cartilage, approximation method by parabolic arc of pinna outline line and identified by the outline line individual method. was described. As a result, it was described that the outline extraction method of Canny was effective in the extraction of an outline line. The individual identification experiment by a pinna outline was done by the method of assuming the difference a triangular center of gravity points to which a parabolic arc was inscribed to be a feature vector. As a result, a higher identification rate was obtained.

JBIG or JBIG2 will be the highly efficient coding method for halftone images. However, the achieved compression ratios for error diffused images or blue dithered images are not satisfactory. In order to study the efficient coding scheme for such halftone images having pseudo-randomness, multi-level image coding, with halftoning after decoding, is proposed and examined. Here we analyzed the relation of information amount and its corresponding picture quality by controlling the image resolution and signal level precision under the assumption of lossy coding. The result shows that the similar compression ratio with JBIG2 can be achieved by the proposed method without affecting the image quality.

Four-dimensional space is the space whose fourth axis is perpendicular to our three-dimensional space. We have studied four-space Origamis: Noshi and Orizuru, and its CG representation. First we show how to fold four-space Origami, and how to make mountain and valley folds after defining inside and outside of four-space Origami. Secondly we show how to represent two kinds of hidden lines by using of CG image of four-space Origami architecture. Thirdly we apply the U-buffer algorithm with the stereogram to making CG images of four-space Orizuru when it is opening its wings.

Ikebana is the one that the beauty is expressed according to the type, and the beauty can be actually felt from flower materials abstracted in some degree. In addition, the type of ikebana showed in textbook interest when seeing from the viewpoint of the abstract art, and if ikebana that essentially needs some tools can easily done on the personal computer, it is practicably convenient. So far in this research, we have been making ikebana simulator that use each flower material such as leaves and flowers and express beauty of type. The system is the one that each operation such as cut, pick, and bend was facilitated to do by two dimension space. On the other hand, since actual ikebana is used a branch growing up, it aims the improvement for the simulator adopted the concept at time. At the same time, this is thought to be also connected automatic making of each flower material.

As for the composition effect which is peculiar to the 3 dimension, it isn't evaluative yet. When shooting videos with the stereoscope camera, generally, an crossed method is used. In the intersection law, the convergence point exists. It uses this point for the adjustment of the stereopsis of the image. When composition more than one piece of 3 dimension by the chromakey, more than one convergence point is set. It does the research of the influence to give the depth impression of synthetic image's having more than one of this convergence point. It contributes for the various 3 dimension content manufacturing, the editing with this research.

The main constituent of the communication by the language was a character expression in the paper. On the other hand, as for the image communication, the video phone, the digital broadcasting, the accumulation type broadcasting and so on developed. The stereoscopic vision image is remarkable as the next generation content, the next generation communication in these images. However, in the stereoscopic vision image which can have a characteristic, the recognition of the direction of the depth, the depth distance recognition, the handling of the text isn't organized. This research is the fusing of the text about the stereoscopic vision image. It does a research about the extension of the text expression and the expression technique about the stereoscopic vision image.

In recent years, content distribution through the Internet has been actively carried out, and image/video distribution as well as music distribution has become widespread in rapid pace. Under this situation, there are growing needs for image/video retrieval, however, technologies for image/video retrieval have not reached to practical level. As such, more research will be required. This paper mentions that the biggest issue in current image/video retrieval is in input interface and shows verification results to build better input interface.

Transmission and reception of the Image/Video digitized by regular connection of a high-speed network and the spread of the high spec. PC has become possible anytime and anywhere. However, the technology of searching the Image/Video to mean efficiently is not enough. As this factor, it is exactly the polysemy that an Image/Video has. In Image/Video retrieval, making metadata that extracts exactly the interface that generates correctly the Image/Video that one imagined as a query, and the feature that an Image/Video has is the most important, and the accuracy of this matching act on reference accuracy greatly. This research describes the classification of the new amount expression of the features using the parameter of a photo subject's depth information recognized in experience common, and a camera position and an angle, and the Image/Video using them to many natural pictures that these subjects should be solved.

Demands for similarity retrieval of three-dimensional model have increased because of the spread of digital archive technology. This paper proposes a new method of similarity estimation by using spatial partitioning model and mathematical morphology. First, our method extracts an amount of global feature of the shape by using spatial partitioning model and local feature of the shape by mathematical morphology. Secondly, the method calculates similarity between the amount of the feature and those which are preserved in advance. Some experimental results show that our method is more effective than the conventional method.

The Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy proposed a hemodialysis medical information exchange format (HeMX) that is an extensible markup language (XML) document. However, the HeMX was used only on the classic form of an introduction card or facsimile, not electronically, in the information exchange between the hemodialysis clinics. In the present study, we tried to visualize the HeMX data in a form of table and graph by expanding the HeMX. The HeMX data file included some virtual laboratory data for these trials. The XML stylesheet language included the Microsoft Web component and Java Script for the graphic display.

The digital welfare map is performed as practical activity in Atsugi IT consortium. The digital welfare map can provide welfare information such as the obstacle and life information on the Internet, by which the senior citizen and physically handicapped persons can go out safe. The actual proof experiment using the trial production system was conducted, and the validity and convenience were checked in February, 2003. This report shows the outline and its research organization of a system of the digital welfare map first. Next, the position information practical use technologies in the digital welfare map were examined, and the GPS positioning application using the on-line map database ware shown. From the result which finally went the actual proof experiment about these in February, 2004, validity of the system was confirmed from the evaluation test by participant and the some future research subject in the digital welfare map ware picked up.

Image coding has been intensively studied for more than 40 years with a purpose to compress still pictures and moving pictures as well. Up to now, several international standards are recommended and utilized for diversified applications worldwide, including communication, storage, broadcasting, and internet-related businesses. This lecture describes progress of the R&D and personal understanding of these activities mainly before MPEG from a different viewpoint from what has been talked about so far.
