Reporting about the world first 8K LED based full-digital planetarium theater in Nagoya-city, called “Manten-Nagoya”, produced by Konica Minolta Planetarium Co. Ltd.
We have developed the world’s first 16K 360° VR video live streaming. In this system, 4K video by multiple cameras is stitched in real time to generate high-quality 360° VR video of 16K or higher, divided into multiple videos and distributed, and synchronized playback by multiple players. In addition, 16K 360° VR video can be viewed using the 360° video space system “Warp Square” provided by Sony Business Solutions Corporation.
We introduce production examples with virtual technologies in CyberHuman Productions, Inc. LED STUDIO is the studio with a LED wall and LED panels. We create advertising movies with In-Camera VFX technologies in LED STUDIO. FutureLive is the service that holds online events in virtual space. We show our challenges, techniques and developments in LED STUDIO and FutureLive.
Video magnification can magnify subtle changes invisible to the naked eye. However, since there often exist various types of temporal variations caused by large motions of objects or photographic noise in real-world videos, detecting only the subtle changes is very difficult. In this paper, we introduce our previous works that allows video magnification to be used in the real-world videos.
NHK STRL is pursuing research on experiences that will exceed the framework of conventional television and will encourage deeper connections with others through the content. In this paper, we present a system that uses augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies to enable people in distant locations to experience content together in ways that feel as though they are in the same space
Many new imaging technologies have been tested and put to practical use when mega sport events are held. The Future Sport Viewing Project is an example of such use and was conducted using planetarium dome screens across Japan during a mega sport event held in Tokyo in the summer of 2021. The following report is an overview of the results of the demonstration experiment, and is based on data released by The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and results of an online survey and interviews conducted at the screening sites.
