    Inthisstudy,theeffectoftheloadingofCaCO;,particles(meanparticlesizesof0.9fim)onthemechanicalpropertiesofpoly(vinylchloride)(PVC)/methylmethacrylate-butadienestyrenecopolymer(MBS)blendswereinvestigated.TheCaCOsparticlesweremodifiedwithstearicacidpreliminary.Thecompositeswerepreparedusingmixingroll.Asresuls,theimpactstrengthofPVC/MBS/CaCO;,systemincreaseddramaticallywhenCaCOsandMBScontentswerewithinthepaticularrange.Fromthetransmissionelectronmicroscopicobservation,theMBSEparticlesranginginsizefrom0.1to0.3mmweredispersedinthematrix.TheimpactstrengthofPVC/MBS/CaCO3systemwasindependentontheparticledistancebetweenCaCOsandMBS,andsuperiorimpactstrengthwasobservedinthedistancebetweenMBSandMBSparticlesbelow0.2/im.AndthestronginteractionbetweenMBSandCaCO;,particleswasn'tconfirmedbythedynamicmechanicalanalysis.
