The mechanical coupling method for column reinforcing rods has been adopted for the purpose of rationalizing building construction work in recent years. This method is currently used in many building facilities such as factories，warehouses，hospitals and condominiums.　When using this mechanical coupling method as down-conductor for lightning protection，each reinforcing rod should be connected reliably to confirm electrical continuity. The authors have established a method that uses mechanical coupling with inorganic grout directly as down-conductors for LPS.
