The purpose of this qualitative study was to describe how parents make decisions to receive Home Care for their children who need mechanical ventilation. In this study, 30 parents were interviewed who had children with chronic respiratory illness continuously requiring ventilator assistance. The results were followings.
    1. The process of parents' decision-making in choosing home care for their child was revealed. Parents were influenced in making decisions by how they perceive their children's condition.
Parents chose caring environment which assures children to live and growth fulfill.
    2. The differences between parents and medical members in recognizing the children's conditions influenced parental copings significantly.
It was suggested that it is significant for Ventilator-depended children to fill the gap between medical personal and parents.

In recent years, the concept of social support has emerged as a major psychosocial variable in health-related research.
The study was conducted to evaluate the validity and reliability of the JPRQ 85 Part 2. The PRQ85 (Brandt & Weinert, 1985) is a self-report questionnaire designed to measure multiple dimensions of perceived social support. The PRQ has two parts: part one addresses some aspects of a person's network structure; part two measures the respondent's perceived level of social support. Part two, which has been used in this study, is based upon Weiss' (1974) definitions of social support, with subscales representing intimacy, social integration, nuturance, worth, and assistance. The PRQ85 Part 2 consists of 25 items with a 7-point linkert scale ranging from “strongly disagree” to“strongly agree.” Validity and reliability were obtained.
PRQ 85 Part2 was translated to Japanese. The items were evaluated for content validity and psychometric properties by six Japanese researchers who hold either a Ph.D. or M.S. degree in nursing, and five mothers who were bilingual. For the JPRQ85 Part 2, four items (items b, e, u, and x) were improved for precision in meaning by translation to Japanese.
The reliability was evaluated by 181 Japanese mothers each of whom had an only child under 3-year-olds. The range of scores (3.0 - 6.7) and the mean (M= 5.38, SD =.63) for social support indicate that Japanese mothers perceived that they had social support. The alpha reliability for the JPRQ 85 Part 2 was.89 which was acceptable.
The JPRQ 85 Part 2 thought to be useful in assessing the Japanese mothers' social support who have young childeren with minor illnesses.

This study aims to make a scale of evaluating an aptitude of nurse.
The purpose of the paper is to abstracts constracting factors.
The investigation is done by mail (rating 75.4% or 1584 persons). Factor analysis is made by 1375 subjects excluding less than two years experience.
The main results were as follows.
    (1) Factor (trials) abstracted from characteristic behavior are continuity, etc. Factor abstracted from self image are confidence, etc.
    (2) According to the result of correlation between behavior factors as continuity, positively correlates to discretion and challenge and it negatively correlates to anxiety, and behavior positively correlates to challenge, and negatively to anxiety. In the relations of above mentioned factors, confidence relates to the determination and self respect.
    (3) The characteristic behavior was analysed multiple regression analysis and according to the standardized partial recursion coefficient, the independent variable which effects continuity is challange, discretion and anxiety. Behavior is exogenous variable with little relation. Independ 4 factors are determination, self respect, coopelation and leniency due to the self image and these factors effect confidence.
Thus the correlation of above mentioned factors became clear when standardizing the criteria of aptitude evaluation.
