Up to this time active carbon has been commonly used as only absorbent of impure matters included in material alcohol or water in brewing.
Synthetic ion exchange resin, however, has been reported its large absorption power of electrolytes. In the case of slight oxidation of above-mentioned, raw materials by oxidizing agents some electrolytes shall be resulted in them and they will be absorbed by the resin.
In this work we have studied the refining power and the influence of the resin to the product by use it to diluted alcohol.
From the result we report in this paper that the resin is available to the purpose of removal of impure matters included in alcohol, for instance, aldehydes, fusel oils and diacetyl etc., though a only question is remained that the resin is a little soluble into alcohol and the very small soluble has what effect to the quality of the treated alcohol. The latter question is now in course of study.
