Particleboards (PB) were produced with the flakes prepared from the CCA (Copper-Chromated-Arsenic preservatives)-treated wooden sills for purpose of the re-utilization of wood products treated with CCA 2.
CCA components were uniformly distributed in the produced PB and the content of CCA in this PB was about 3.6kg/m
3. This is almost the same value as the absorbance of CCA-treated sill of grade No.2 defined by the Japanese Agricultural Standard for Sawn Lumbers.
The presence of CCA in the flakes had no influence upon the mechanical properties of the PB. While, it became clear that the CCA was useful for preservation of the PB against the fungus.
