Antifungal activities of the extractives from yakusugi domaiboku, the stumps or abandoned logs of sugi (Cryptomeria japonica D. DON), which had grown in Yakushima Island and had been cut long time ago, were examined. Hexane soluble components were most active against Tyromyces palustris and Coriolus versicolor. Hexane extracts were separated with a silica gel column and antifungal activities of the high yielded fractions were tested. Antifungal activities of each fractions were differentl between two fungi. Cryptomeridiol and other two compounds were the main components of the most active fractions against Coriolus versicolor.
