JOURNAL FREE ACCESSLaboratory tests and practical tests have been done for accurate estimation of anti-sapstain agents.
Several single or mixed chemicals were formulated in various types of agent and their efficacy against the growth of sapstain fungi and wood-surface molds by the test method according to JWPA S-2 (1979).
Both TPICN and TCMTB showed higher effectiveness in the emulsified type and IPBC showed higher effectiveness in the water-solubilized type.
Mixture of TCMTB and MBTC showed higher effectiveness in the emulsified type, but mixture of TCMTB and IPBC showed higher effectiveness in the water-solubilized type.
For the practical use in dipping treatment, several formulations were carried out. Formulation No. 5, emulsified type of TCMTB and MBTC, was the most stable solution in practical repetitive treatment.View full abstractDownload PDF (2023K) -
