Field tests for decay-resistance and anti-termite performance were conducted on OSB treated with zinc borate(ZB), using ZB conten(t 0%, 1.5%, and 2%)and thicknes(s 12mm and 28mm)as parameters. The specific test methods were in accordance with the field tests specified in JIS K1571:2010. The implementation period was 78 months(6.5 years). Although these tests differ from the specimens specified in JIS K1571 in terms of dimensions and chemical treatment methods, it is estimated that all specimens containing ZB are comparable to the outdoor decay-resistance and anti-termite performance standard specified in JIS K1571. It was revealed in the field tests conducted in accordance with the injection treatment method that the thicker the specimen and the higher the ZB content, the better performance was obtained. In a field test of anti-termite performance(surface treatment method), there was no difference in performance based on ZB content, and the difference in performance based on thickness appeared after 54 months. In this test, the degree of attack of all specimens containing ZB was less than 30 after 78 months(6.5 years).
