As you must be aware, the Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to a troika of Japanese physicists, Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano, and Shuji Nakamura, for their enormous contribution in blue LED development.
In 2001, Shuji Nakamura, who is now with the University of California, Santa Barbara, sued his former employer, Nichia Corporation, demanding appropriate consideration for his inventions and contributions to the Company. The parties reached a settlement for a payment of 843 million yen in 2005.
