This paper surveys a case study of diffusion of cloud-based accounting service in Japan. The accounting service, which adopts two-sided markets structure and freemium business model, gathers a large number of individual’s users and corporate’s users. As the results of this study, this paper clarifies three factors of its diffusion strategies. First, the accounting cloud service has been expanding its customer’s groups to grow sustainably. Second, the accounting cloud service not only build up path independence of system environment and neutrality of network path within its platform, but also cultivate path dependence of successive service innovations within its ecosystem. Third, the accounting cloud service adopts a spiral market strategy cyclically. As the results of findings, this paper extracts generalizations of diffusion of cloud service that adopts two-sided markets structure and freemium business model. The service provider, who solves these generalizations, can win its sustainable growth of new cloud services with the two-sided markets structure and freemium business model.

Manufacturing enterprises promote production of many models in small quantities in order to accommodate a variety of customer preferences. However, some customers cannot determine all of the customizable specifications before dispatching the production order. In this case, the preliminary processing for an order, called "Senko Tehai", is needed to prepare parts, materials or half-finished goods. Therefore, it is necessary that the system effectively manage the period of time in which customers can decide undetermined specifications to meet the promised delivery date. This study evaluates the behavior and the performance concerning the preliminary processing for an order while waiting for undetermined specifications to be decided after the order contract point. At first, the F-BOM is proposed as a production management system based on FBOM (Fundamental Bill of Manufacturing) for managing undetermined specifications. Furthermore, using a business process simulation, this study compares the F-BOM and a general production management system based on BOM (Bill of Materials), and the differences are evaluated concerning the process time and the wait time in queue of each operation in the processing of a customer’s order. From the results, it is shown that the process time and the waiting time are reduced by adopting F-BOM, and also important matters when using undetermined specifications are clarified through this examination.

The structure of production systems are process system working system and control system. Understanding the structure of the production system that become basic of the production system development. A production system has process ability. This process ability has QCD ability. Ability for Q process is ability for realization for the quality problem. Ability for C process is ability for realization for the cost problem. Ability for D process is ability for realization for the time schedule problem. The ability for QCD process is established by QCD work design. And then, Ability for appropriate process will throw light on being accomplished from association of QCD work design If the ability for process is excessive or underestimate that is problem. In the case of excessiveness, waste happens. And In the case of small, Problem cannot be accomplished. It is important that keep to appropriate ability at the same time.

The purpose of this paper is an analysis of survival in the Japanese information industry. Information service firms are generally classified into two typical patterns. One is the group of Independent such as software vendors, and the other is the group of Non-independent such as subsidiaries established by spinning off. We used a sample of 335 firms in Japan and analyzed by Kaplan-Meier estimator method in order to investigate the difference of survival between these two groups or among other attributes. As a result, there was no difference statistically in the survival rates of two groups. However, regardless of the group, the survival rate of firms with the low dependence of sales revenue to their main client companies tended to become high significantly. Finally implications of this study are discussed.

Innovations are indispensable for the economic development of countries and for the competitive advantage of firms and industries. The extreme importance of innovations has generated a number of frameworks for their categorization. A representative example of these categorizations is the one proposed by William Abernathy and James Utterback. The A-U model distinguishes between product innovation and process innovation, and ascertains that continuous product innovations in a certain industry lead to the formation of a dominant design, after which process innovation occurs along the dominant design. However, the recent cloud technology in the IT industry may challenge some of the assertions of the A-U model.

The loss from “presenteeism,” in which industrial workers display decreased work performance in relation to health problems, is reported to be greater than the loss from medical expenses and absenteeism of workers who take time off because of illness or health problems. Thus, this could be considered a phenomenon in which there is decreased ability to perform tasks while internalizing various health problems derived not from illness but from workplace stress. Such phenomena are thought to be a huge artificial risk to productivity improvements in a company. Women in a company have many mental and physical complaints that derive from physiological phenomena that are unique to women. However, few studies have attempted to clarify the relational composition between female physiological phenomena and health problems in companies. Menstruation is greatly affected by menarche, and early or late menarche has a large effect on later menstrual status. In particular, there are many reports that earlier menarche increases the risk of breast cancer. Thus, management of women’s menstrual health problems would seem to be necessary. In this study, we investigated the mechanisms of health problems derived from menstruation, a physiological phenomenon of women, and explored the relational composition with presenteesism.

Thought toward the health of employees in a company is an important factor in raising productivity. For employees to work hard for the company, their physical fitness cannot be ignored. However, the various problems in actually measuring physical fitness in companies make this difficult. We then wondered whether the characteristics of physical fitness could be inferred from body composition balance using easily measurable physique and body composition data. This study was conducted with the aim of comparing whether differences in physical fitness exist between groups divided by body composition balance determined using physique and body composition, and whether there are differences between groups depending on differences in experience playing school team sports as a part of daily life in middle and high school. The subjects were 1,003 female university students at an arts university. Their height, weight, and body fat percentage were measured. To measure physical fitness, back strength, sit-ups, vertical jump, 20 m shuttle run, and grip strength were used. BMI was calculated from height and weight. An evaluation chart was built from least squares approximation polynomial of body fat percentage against BMI, and body composition balance was obtained from an evaluation using mean BMI and divided into 9 groups. To compare the characteristics of physical fitness between the groups, the differences between groups were investigated using both analysis of variance and multiple comparison. The validity of the inference regarding physical fitness was investigated by performing a χ2 test of whether there were differences between the groups in experience playing team sports in middle and high school.

This research analyzes how TFT-LCD became a dominant design of LCD industry. While previous studies described the formation of dominant design as a result of product innovation, this study points out the possibility that process innovation plays an important role in the formation of dominant design. According to the case study, it has found that the dominant design established as product innovation and process innovation had occurred concurrently in the LCD industry. The finding indicates that the relationship of trust with suppliers is important in the phase of technological change.

Warehousing is a contract business to manage the goods, so it is a core business of the logistics along with the transportation industry. Inventory is the original benefit of that business, but at the same time, it is the retention of the goods, so the cost is also a loss through the supply chain. In marketing, carrying cost or carrying cost of inventory refers to the total cost of holding inventory. This includes warehousing costs related to perishability, pilferage, shrinkage and insurance. When there are no transaction costs for shipment, carrying costs are minimized when no excess inventory is held at all, as a Just In Time production system. In this paper, we research the actual stock of the warehouse company of goods from the shipment survey of storage stocks. We focused the dead stock that stores more than six months, and checked order number and the amount. At last, we reported the cost reducing methods of warehousing taking into account the amount of stock.

With the economic globalization, the supply chain network is spread all over the world. It brings more supply chain risks than ever before. Therefore, how to analyze supply chain risks becomes important gradually. Under such circumstances, this paper first reviews studies on supply chain risk management (SCRM), and then describes how to use simulation techniques for analyzing supply chain risks. In addition, we investigate the trend of simulation techniques, and show the potential for analyzing a supply chain by using agent-based simulation (ABS). The development of information and communications technology (ICT) will enhance analytical capabilities of computer simulation continually, and it can be expected using simulation techniques to analyze a dynamic and complex supply chain system.

In recent years, obesity has become a social problem that is also being felt within companies. Obesity causes lifestyle-related diseases that induce metabolic syndrome, including hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension, and the decreases in productivity it causes in companies is thought to be a big problem. In addition, the serious decrease in physical fitness from a lack of exercise that comes from a basic dislike of exercise not only impairs health but also causes huge damage to production capacity during work. In this study, we determined obesity based on BMI in longitudinal data on physique and physical fitness/athletic ability over the three years of high school, and tracked the status of obesity. Briefly, wavelet interpolation was applied to the changes with age in BMI, running, jumping, and throwing, and an aging evaluation chart was constructed based on the aging changes. Individual longitudinal BMI, 50 m run, standing long jump, and handball throw were applied to the constructed aging evaluation chart in an attempt to explore whether or not the individual will be an effective and hard-working company employee in the future from the tracking status of physical performance in obesity.

The purpose of the product platform is the reduction of production cost, high-quality, shorten the delivery time, and there is an effect that product-specific cost evaluation is possible. This paper summarize the product platform from the literature overseas. And, the direction and the road map etc. of product platform are clarified. Then product platform must be considered the parts commonality indices and parts csst. Common indices of parts were brought together from the document. And, it proposed the method of using the PIQ parts list. When the PIQ parts list is used, it is clarified to be able to lead common index of DCI and TCCI. In addition, the number of part sharing of parts of two products and the expression of the parts common ratios are introduced. Then by introducing the PIQC cost table, the effect of component standardization is to indicate that all permits evaluation as expenses. Then by introducing the amount of cost PIQC table, the effect of component standardization all allows for evaluation as cost. And, the benchmark test becomes possible from the amount of cost PIQC table and the PIQC graph as for the effect of the economy when parts are shared. The cluster analysis on each parts are calculated from the PIQC table. The numerical result is shown as the new dendrogram.

In the excellent industrial production system in Japan, it has been produced high-quality and high-performance products. Japanese Total Quality Management (TQM)is famous for all the world, especially, impacted on the Chinese factory. China has been introduced and carried out the technique and management of Japanese TQM. But the level of production of quality in china is not good. Although it has been implemented the same techniques and philosophy of quality management, there are still have a gap between production of quality in Japan and China. The one of the reason is to be said that the problem consciousness of TQM is different from employees to the manager. It will be explained the history and development of Japanese Total Quality Management, and also the history and development of Total Quality Management in China in the study. The authors conducted a questionnaire targeting Chinese employees working in Chinese manufacturing industry and analyzed the impact factor of the problem consciousness of quality management based on the questionnaire survey. By the result, problem consciousness of the employees has been revealed in the Chinese manufacturing industry.

Most important impact of the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) is the fact it has changed Production Information Control Systems (PICS) from the system for probability data to the system for definitive data. But many still recognize MRP systems are simulation systems processing probability data or calculation systems. The reason of this may be MRP system calculates big volume of data, also another reason is the fact actual production plan is frequently changing and parts production result is frequently deviated from its plan. Then appropriate mechanism to process the influence of production plan change and the result of deviation of parts production could make PICS general transaction processing system from calculation system. This means PICS becomes ordinal system though now many think it is difficult to understand. For the objective, it should be required to recognize production systems as multiple layered systems.
