Corrosion behavior of SiC and Ti
3SiC
2 in high temperature LBE at steady and transient temperature conditions has been investigated. In the case of steady condition, the materials were immersed in high temperature LBE at 700°C for 1000 hours. In the case of transient condition, the specimens were immersed in LBE at 550°C for several hours and then the temperature of LBE was increased for several hours up to 800°C. In the steady condition, there were no penetration of Pb-Bi into SiC and Ti
3SiC
2 matrix and no dissolution of constituent metals into Pb-Bi found. In the transient condition, there was also no penetration Pb-Bi into the matrix of Ti
3SiC
2 material found. However, the dissolution of silicon from the material into Pb-Bi was found.
