The purpose of this study was to establish a system of instructions of forehand stroke, which is based on the theory of the movement affinity and the family of movement, and to propose a method of the coaching of forehand stroke.
First, the research showed the six movement structures of forehand stroke shots. Second, the analysis of the movement structures revealed the characteristics of forehand stroke movements. Third, the study proposed the analogon of forehand stroke, which is based on the movement affinity, and established the family of movements, referred from that of Kaneko (1982).
In conclusion, the study proposed the method of coaching, grounded by the analogon of forehand stroke and the system of instructions in the family of movements.
