We are currently in the process of developing Super-Hi-Vision(SHV) system with 4320 scanning line. In order to reproduce the image of SHV on a plasma display panel(PDP), the high-frequency address driving techniques must be required. However, the high-frequency address driving cause image degradation, because an increase of the address driving can result in unstable discharge. Hence we propose a method for simultaneous scanning of multiple lines to shorten the address discharge period.

In this paper, we propose a method for detecting salient regions on the basis of the two color histograms of the inside and outside of the clipped rectangular region. We experimentally compare the proposed method with the latest method by Achanta et al. Experimental results show that the proposed method can detect salient regions more clearly than Achanta's method.

Previously we have proposed the color-image denoising method that applies the tight-frame grouplet transform to shift-invariant Haar wavelet coefficients of a noisy color image and then denoises those grouplet coefficients with the hard color-shrinkage. This method preserves textures and diagonal edges much better than the conventional denoising method, but it tends to cause color smears. To solve this problem, we present a method to control the application of the grouplet transform.

Our previous approach tries to optimize the soft color-shrinkage with a kind of alternately-iterative greedy algorithm, but it achieves the optimization only in the specifically qualified parameter-setting. To cope with this difficulty, this paper constructs a new projected gradient solver, which always achieves the optimization of the soft color-shrinkage irrespective of the parameter setting.

It has been shown that loading a certain reactance component at the feeding point of an antenna is useful in reducing antenna size. However, a small antenna usually has low input resistance. The approach outlined is to increase the input resistance of the small loading antenna and utilize knowledge of a folded monopole antenna. A loaded folded monopole antenna with high resistance can then be realized. Coaxial line is also used as the loading element for the loading antenna. It is proposed that a loaded folded monopole antenna can be realized by replacing the parallel antenna elements with coaxial cable transmission line. All other results are provided by computer simulation using the method of moments, since results are assumed to be similar to those recorded from practical experimentation.
