Generalized pseudocalcium deposition-like lesion in the arteriolar wall of 48-year-old male who died of cytomegalic inclusion body disease was studied. The authors performed a histopathological examination on the salivary glands which showed remarkable changes than any other part of organs in the body, and compared it with the same kind of lesions of the arterioles in oder to determine the substance of pseudocalcium depositiorlike lesion. As the result, this lesion was not illcluded in previously reported vascular lesions as regards a characteristics of staining and location. The authors postulated that cytomegalic inclusion body disease was effecting as a trigger to the formation of the pseudocalcium deposition-like lesion.

A new technique (M method) immobilizing mice on the filter paper for measuring pilocarpine-induced salivation was developed, and compared with Richter’s (R) and Parkesr’s (P) method in regard to the sensitivity and the variance of salivation and the mortality in mice.

Mice were immobilized by using a small dose (0.5g/kg, s. c.) of urethane and a fixed tray for M method, a large dose (1.8g/kg, s. c.) of urethane for R method and a larg dose (50mg/kg, i. p.) of diazepam for P method.

The degree of activity to the antagonist effect of anticholinergics in three methods was almost the same, but the variance of the measured values which obtained in M method was the lowest and approximately one-half of those obtained in R and P method. The condition of immobilization in M method decreased the acute toxicity of pilocarpine. On the other hand, the condition of immobilization in R and P method remarkably potentiated the toxicity of pilocarpine and reduced the value of LD50 of pilocarpine, showing the high mortality rate over 50 per cent.

From these results, it is concluded that M method is superior to R and P method with respect to low variance of the measured values and low toxicity to mice.

The purpose of presenting paper is to demonstrate the influencing factors of the marginal fitness of fixed bridge.

Two cases of fixed bridge were surgically removed without destroying any components. One of fixed bridge was a posterior bridge as in 7-5 4|, and abutments were made with full cast crowns. Another one of fixed bride was an anterior bride as in 1|-2, and abutments were made with porcelain fused to metal crowns. Those fixed bridge were sectioned mesio-distally and bucco-lingually, and were measured the width of the cement line under the microscope.

    The following observation were made,

    1, The average width of cement line at the crown margins of 4|, 5|, 7| were 265μm, 260μm, 340μm, and 1|, |2 were 300μm, 405μm.

2, Overhanging margins and excessive or short margins were observed.

3, Inadequate margins fitness were due to lack of accurate therapeutic technique.

The combination method of the direct bonding system and the splint of the ®Imprelon (1mm thick) by the pressure moulding technigue, were used for the stabilization of the injured deciduous teeth.

The procedure and the clinical 8 cases were described in this paper.

The advantages for this method are as follows.

    1) The procedure time is shorter.

2)The thickness of the splint is 0.5-0.7mm and so the obstruction is less in the mouth.

3)The oral mucosa are injured a little owing to the smooth surface.

    4) The elasticity, retention and the resistance for break and good.

    5) The transformation to the occlusal pressure is little.

    6) The splint can be easily removed.

7)The confirmation of the diseased teeth is possible for what reasen clear.

    8) It is more available in the cases of the younger children.

Adding the procedure and setting of the splint were easier through the ligature wire at the time of the reposition.

During the stabilization, the defection of the splint was not observed and period of stabilization was adequate three weeks.

Cleft lip and/or palate is a one of oral-facial congenital anomalies, and this abnomalities were often showed to change for the untreatable gross skeletal discrepancies with growth. Therefore, it seemed that the longitudinal oral health service is neccessary to solve such the problem by integrated team composed of all specialities from birth to adulthood. On the other hand, it is important to advance with the final occlusion for a long term objectives at each developmental stage through the treatment of cleft patient. Numely, to prevent the dentol caries for healthy deciduous teeth, to lead the healthy and normal relationship of jaws, these objectives should be attainned at the deciduous and mixed dentition.

This articles showed above mentioned treatment procedure for the cleft patient, and then, oral examinations of 68 patients (37 males, 31 females) visitting Pedodontic Clinic of Iwate Medical University Dental Hospital.

Comparing with the normal children, denal caries incidence of deciduous teeth, caries prevalence rate, deft index, and deft rate appeared highest among younger stage. Particularly in upper anterior and upper poaterior regions. The dental carles is most frequency in complate cleft cip and palate patient.

Recent advances of the dentistry have produced remarkable increasements and variations of both the quality and quantity of informations in which those who concern themselves with dental clinics are interested. The introduction of the computer system is concidered to be indispensable in order to store and manage those great amounts of informations effectively.

Actually many works have been done with the help by means of the computer system. But as far as we know, in many cases, they can be collected only by the processing of data for convenience rather than by analizing of true value of individual work.

We now insist on the necessity of the computer system which can be able to store and manage to supply many valuable informations for orthodontics, and obtaining other additional informations.

In addition, it is very important and useful that those systems perform the conversational processing, and various statistical analysis (involving multi-variate statistical analysis) can be easily and simply applied.

For those reasons, we have been developing the clinical data processing system for orthodontics (named "ORDAS"), and obtained some interism findings.

A theoretic concept of the system and clinical approches of the methods of the computer has been presented in relation to use of retrieving and analysed stored clinical datas in orthodontics.

Nevus cell aggregate in lymph node is a rare benign lesion, but this lesion in lymph node may be disturbing and could possibly lead to an erroneous diagnosis as metastatic malignant tumor. This paper reports an interesting histologic findings in which perplexed to make a final diagnosis as either metastatic carcilnoma or nevus cell aggregate in a cervical lymph node.

This report describes an anomalous case of the obturator arteries originated bilaterally from the external iliac arteries. The case was found in a Japanese male cadaver of 57 years old during routine dissecting for students at Iwate Medical University, School of Dentistry in 1981. The left obturator artery arose directly from the external iliac artery, and the right obturator artery originated from the common trunk of the inferior epigastric artery derived from the external iliac artery. Moreover, there was no original obturator artery occurred from the internal iliac artery or its branches on both sides. Both of the obturator arteries of this case may be correspond to the figure 15 and 14 according to Tsukamoto (1929). This direct origin of the obturator artery from the external iliac artery is the 20th case and this bilateral origin of the obturator artery from the external iliac artery is the 2 nd case previously reported in Japan as far as we know.

During the routine dissection by dental students at Iwate Medical University, a case of the congenital absence of the trapezius muscle was found. This case was observed in a 60-year-old Japanese male cadaver who died of the carcinoma of the oesophagus. The congenital absence was observed the left lower portion of the trapezius muscle. This is the 9th case of congenital absence of trapezius muscle in Japan.
