A brief program of the graphical management of the electrical activities in the nervous system has been prepared for the time sharing system (TSS) installed in Computer Center of Tohoku University. After the poststimulus time histograms (PSTH) of the cortical single unit responses to the tooth pulp stimulation were recorded by a universal statistic computer (TOSHIBA 800 CUSC, Type 34801M), the data inscribed with ASCII code were punched out by a tape puncher. The command, the program composed by FORTRAN-700 language and the data mentioned above were fed to the TSS terminal installed in Iwate Medical University. A numerical controled drafter established in Center was operated through the telecommunication line by the TSS terminal. The subroutines provided in Center were also used for drafter drawing. It is confirmed that, by using this system, the automatic performance of the PSTH drawing was done accurately and promptly. The time and labor to accomplish the drawing work were extremely reduced in this system. Furthermore, it was reported that magnification of scale in either one of vertical or horizontal axis on the histogram was adjustable by means of reforming of the program and that there are much advantages claimed for this system for the effective representation of the PSTH.

The prostheses in the treatment of outpatients of the Iwate Medical University Dental Hospital were statistically studied in the survey for ten years since January, 1966 up to December, 1975. A total of 18101 prostheses has been constructed for these years.

(1)Most frequently constructed prosthesis was removable partial denture. During ten years, 6249 removable partial dentures have been constructed, and amounted to 34.5% of all prostheses. It was followed by 3767 full cast crowns, 3358 veneer crowns, 2451 complete dentures and 2278 fixed bridges in order. They amounted to 20.8, 18.6, 13.5 and 12,6% of all prostheses respectively.

(2)Complete dentures: The dentures have been constructed to the patients of sixth decade most frequently, and amounted to 29.5%. The dentures constructed to the male and female were 43.9 and 56.1% respectively. In respect to arches, maxillary and mandibular dentures were 55.4 and 44.6% respectively.

(3)Removable partial dentures: Regarding to the age distribution, the dentures for the patients of fourth decade were most frequently constructed and amounted to 25.2%. The ratio of the male and female was 48.2 to 51.8%. Maxillary and mandibular dentures were 45.3 to 54.7% in frequency.

(4)Maxillofacial prostheses: The prostheses have been fabricated for the patients of fifth decade most frequently, amounting to 31.8%. The prostheses constructed to the male and female amounted to 63.6 and 36.4% respectively. Maxillary and mandibular prostheses amounted to 97.7 and 2.3% respectively, and maxillary prostheses exceeded markedly.

An unusual case of tuberculous submental lymphadenitis has been reported.

A 63-year-old man was referred to our clinic, complaining of swelling of the floor of the mouth. At the age of 17, he had had pulmonary tuberculosis, Physical examination revealed a elastic hard, movable and nontender mass of the size of a hen’s egg in the submental region. Lateral view of the soft x-ray film of the skull showed a well-defined mass in that region.

Under general anesthesia, a cluster of nodes was removed en bloc. The postoperative course was satisfactory.

    Histopathologic diagnosis was tuberculous lymphadenitis.

During the past 2 years 10 months, we treated 95 patients of temporomandibular arthrosis and analysed their laboratory findings at the first medical examination.

Blood examinations were performed about 80 cases. There were 72 cases (90.0%) in RBC, 69 (87.3%) in WBC and 51(64.6%) in Hb within normal limits. Moderate acceleration of erythrocyte sedimentation was observed in 24.6% and abnormal findings of urine examination in ten percent of cases.

Immuno-serological examinations were carried out on 80 cases. CRP was positive in 8 cases (10.0%), RA in 2(2.5%) and ASL-O in 3(3.7%). Four patients who had ever suffered from rheumatism were all negative in these examinations.

From above statistical study, we could not find relation between genesis of the disease and systemic disorders in our series.
