The illumination can be considered a vector and the component illuminations enable us to calculate easilly the illumination in the space. We calculate the component illuminations due to light from luminous sources of various forms assuming the following assumptions:
(1) Lambert's cosine law of radiation holds to the luminous sources
(2) Inverse square law holds to infinitesimal element of sources
(3) Field is fiilled with uniform medium with neither absorption, reflection, nor such like, and (4) Intrinsic brilliancy is uniform all over the luminous sources
